Hello my friends, I have a leaky kitchen fauceet and would like to change it out to a regular house kitchen faucet, is that possible. I have an 04 Diplomat with a faucet that detaches to use for a sprayer. Would appreciate any advice on how to go about doing this little project if it can be done. Thanks

I changed mine out and it was the very first project after purchasing the rig from the original owners. They must have been using some really hard water as the White colored kitchen faucet looked like it had been through a war.

I purchased a chrome metal one with a removable sprayer head from Lowe's, a single lever. Don't remember the brand but it was a higher end one. It took two of us to install it as the space under the sink was really tight and I am not a small person by any imagination. My friend held the faucet on top while I secured it from below. Once that was done, it was easy to hook up the supplies to the faucet. Then I had to make sure that the hose going to the spray head did not interfere with anything under the sink so it wouldn't get caught on something below and not come out all the way.

The entire project took a few hours but well worth it to get rid of that white piece of junk Monaco put in their coaches. I also use CLR on the new one along with the other faucets in the shower, and two vanity sinks to keep them spot free and clean. It works great for hard water deposits but you need to do it at least once a week. I also use a water softener but sometimes it doesn't get recharged right away and the CLR takes care of any hard water spots on the faucets and fiberglass shower.

Thanks for the response and advice, I will do this project this weekend. I also have a toilet that is leaking in the rear bath, it is leaking from the bottom where it connects to the floor out of the wood in the corner, any suggestions on this one? Thanks

Just head down to your local home improvement store and pick the faucet that suite your fancy. make sure you account for the holes you have in your current configuration.

On one RV we had, it was easier to pull the kitchen sink and replace the faucets and reinstall the sink than to try and work in the cramped cabinet space.

Very easy project
Just a couple of nuts and fittings
I would probably buy a better faucet, because if you take the time and trouble to do it you will want something that will last
Plus you want the coach to look nice

Dave,
If I can do it you can do it. I replaced my original faucet with a Delta faucet purchased from Lowes. The installation was easy other than the tight quarters under the sink. Good Luck !!

Actually, the leaking toilet is more pressing than your kitchen sink faucet replacement. The leaking toilet is slowly destroying the wood underlay under the toilet. It needs to come out of there soon. Also check for black mold or any mold and get rid of it. I would insert another section of plywood in that area to replace the rotted spongy press board that they usually use on the floors.

Then while there, look for connection leaks, replace all seals and the main toilet base to flange gasket which is NOT wax, but rubber. A wax one will melt one hot day and you'll be in BIG dodo so to speak. Also replace the seal around the ball or fitting that seals the bowl water from the base.

Not knowing exactly what toilet you have, I have only given you general ideas of where to start.

I also changed the faucet in my 2001 Dynasty. Went to Lowes they had a American Standard High Line on sale in the Antique White color that was a perfect match installation was easy although in a tight area.
Afterwards I read that the original had a Life Time Guarantee you might want to check with the manufacturer.
