Hi Everyone,

I'm having a problem with the plastic chain like wiring harness in my 07 Diplomat PDQ kitchen driver side refrigerator slide.

When I try to retract the slide, the harness buckles, requiring two people, one activating the power and the other outside to feed it through the opening.

I have not been able to locate anyone with the same model to see if they may be having the same problem or to see if something is missing on my unit.

I have posted some pictures to see if anyone has some advise, Thank You

I don't have any experience with that, but just looking at the pictures I would guess lubrication might solve your problem. Silicone would be my choice. It just looks kind of dirty and stiff. But again, no experience, just what I would do. Hopefully someone will be right along to advise you.

Thank You for the reply, unfortunately the harness is beyond silicone, I was hoping to come across somebody with the same vintage & mechanism as mine.
All of the newer units that I have seen have an improved design. I'm thinking that I may be missing a bearing, roller or gasket that would improve the travel of the chain mechanism through the opening!

Just guessing could it of had a spring that pulled it back inside when retracting slide.

I agree with spring concept. Looks like that is what helps retract it. ??????

I have not seen any evidence of a spring location, but I will explore that possibility. Thank You

What is on the other side of the hole? I tend to agree with the others that there is something missing or loose.

Just wanted to thank everybody for there input, and update You on my solution.

I decided to take a 2 1/2" piece of PVC pipe and cut a 1 1/2" slot along the length in order to allow me to slide it over the existing harness, I then drilled a countersunk hole in the end in order to attach it to the existing mount.

Seems to work really well, I will update You should any problems arise
