Kool-O-Matic

We have a Kool-O-Matic ceiling vent in our new to us 99 Executive. It needs to be cleaned. So I've removed all the perimeter vent cover screws, but can't figure out how to remove the center knob so as to finish removing the ceiling vent register. Can anybody help?

Thanks
Don, Lisa, and Alexa

Pull it off, it has no set screw that I know of, I just clean mine recently. The inside of the knob has a small spring clip that will only allow the knob to be located in one direction as I believe that the shaft has a flat on it.

Thanks! Your are correct, and nothing broke.
I was afraid to pull hard. Usually when I do, I'm not suppose to, and I break something.
