LCI Hydraulic Slide Blues

I'm looking to get some suggestions... and perhaps release some frustrations! About 3 months ago, I went to my RV storage garage and found my Monaco's curb side LCI hydraulic slide about 2 feet extended. I retracted them and went out the next morning... and the slide had extended again. So I took it to the dealer and they said they had repaired it (blown seal) under warranty. I brought it home... went out the next day... and they were extended again.

I took it to the dealer again and LCI sent them a whole new unit (under warranty)... the dealer installed it... I took it home... Got out there the next weekend... and they were extended again! Plus there was a puddle of hydraulic fluid under the pump.

I took it to the dealer again and they said it looked like one of the new seals had blown (sounded reasonable). They replace it, checked everything, etc. I picked it up this last Friday and on the drive home the slide had extended about a inch. Check the slide today... and it was about 1 foot out!!!

Thus far, all of the repairs/replacements have been under warranty... but I'm getting tired of going to the dealer (about 100 miles away... don't even want to calculate the diesel cost!).

My question is... are others having this kind of problems with LCI slides? Should I continue to trust the dealer to fix this? Is there anything I can do on my own to fix it?

Like I said... just a little frustrated with an otherwise great coach!

Thanks,

Ron

I had a Lippert pump failure in 11/10 on my 2008 Camelot. Had a new one ordered in and all has been fine. Leaking seal and puddle is what happened and the slide would not retract. There are several threads on this forum, do a search on Lippert Pump.

Lippert has had a continuing problem with their pumps. Their customer service sucks. They initially ducked responsibility for the problem but appear to have accepted responsibility more recently. Nonetheless they stuck the pickle to many and assume no responsibility for the incidental expenses caused from their defective. Monaco should have switched suppliers long ago.

Anything made by Lippert is junk. I dont know why they stopped using HWH slides. Far superior.

Junk, indeed. I'm amazed at the number of Lippert issues that were reported bad on this site alone. One can only wonder how many folks out there have had this issue and it's gone unreported and been paid for by those folks. Sad........
