Good morning! On the newer coaches they use a different style of light switch that is illuminated and I'd like to change my old school switches to those. I've checked all over the web and haven't been able to find them. Does anyone happen to know the manufacturer's name or where I might be able to buy them?

Thanks

Bob,
I'm not sure if these switches are what you had in mind.

I too wanted some illuminated switches in my 5er. It came with some that glowed a very dim green in total darkness. I finally took one apart to see how they are made. Imagine my surprise when after pulling the switch apart the light is actually a small green LED. I went to my local electronic supply and bought a package of 10 small LEDs in green and 10 resistors and some heat shrink tubing. An hour after returning home I now have all my light switches that are hard to find in the dark glowing a very subtle green. Pretty cool. No more then 10$ total and some time.

I should have been more succinct. The ones that I'm interested in have an upper and lower button that is labeled with the name of what it controls. Good for people like me that suffer from halfzeimers and can't remember which button controls what.

Radams -

I can't be certain, but what you may be describing are the multi-point swtiches that are installed in some coaches. If so, one manufacturer of these switches is Intellitec and that is the brand that is in my Camelot. And if this is what you want, the problem you will face is that they represent a fundamentally different wiring approach from what is conventionally used in 12volt coach wiring. For each switch, you have a single conductor that goes back to a multi-point switching controller. On my coach, there are three of these controllers mounted in a cabinet above the head and they are programable.

Here is a brochure - http://www.irv2.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=15750

and here is a schematic of how they are wired on my coach - http://www.irv2.com/photopost/showph...8&ppuser=42935

If this is indeed what you are looking for, conversion could be difficult.

Coincidentaly, I could not help but notice the very next post on this forum, where rick.siebert is describing problems he is having with this very same system on his Dynasty......

Problems with Multiplex system

I guess we should all be careful what we wish for......

Yep, that's it! Hmmm, a little more extensive a change then I imagined. Thanks a lot for sending that info. It's very helpful.
