Lighted Switches

I have a number of lighted rocker switches (Porch light, entry step) plus others that the internal light has failed. Anyone have luck or know how to replace the light rather than replace the complete switch? I saw something using an LED bulb and a resistor but can you just replace the bulbs?

I replaced all my water pump switches with 12 volt led lights. It was vary finicky.
