In November of last year we experienced a total failure of the Lippert Hydraulic pump tha operates the slideouts on our 2009 Camelot. We had our pump replaced by our dealor. Monaco obviously would not warranty the product in view of the reorganization. Calls and letters to Lippert resulted in a series of excuses. There have been numerous failures of these pumps surrounding the same time frame as ours. There are numerous posts on this website and an open investigation By the Office of Safety Defects of NHTSA relative to these pumps.

Lippert finally had me ship the pump to then and after testing offered to reimburse me for the cost of the pump only. It then took them two months to send me a check.

I resent the way Lippert attempted to avoid liability for an obviously defective product. If you experience a failure of your pump I hope this helps.

Bench,
I felt fortunate to finally get my punp sent at no cost from Lippert. They were not going to send it when the original pump failed. I understand the cost of the unit to be in the $1300 plus range and was furious. I guess since I was within 12 months when it happened, they paid for 3 hours of shop labor for me too. I can't say if the pending NHTSA investigation changed their policy or not, but the way they reacted in the beginning was indeed shameful, but they did step up in the end. Wish it had never failed in the first place. I feel your frustration.....

I guess we are the somewhat lucky ones.

Ours failed within days of taking delivery of the new to us 2009 Simba. The previous owner had the pump fail on him at least twice before we bought the coach.

Our dealer "neglected" to mention the problem and wanted us to pay the repair bill at another dealer and then he would put the bill through the extended warranty company for us and then pay us back.

I declined his offer and together with the dealer that actually did the repair we "discussed" the issue with Lippert. They where kind enough to send out a replacement assembly but I had to pay the installation.

Now I am trying to get the installation cost out of the original dealer.

There are all threads with pictures etc about this issue. I have been lucky so far and just hope the luck doesn't run out.
