Hi Folks;
I have an 09 Scepter with 2 Lippert hydraulic slideouts in the front. Each of these slideouts has 2 hydraulic cylinders for extend and retraction. The problem is the roadside slide has started to drift out after being retracted. This will happen either stationary or while under way. I contacted Lippert and right away they suggested it was an internal seal in one of the hydraulic cylinders, because this slide has 2 cylinders the trouble shooting is getting beyond my ability (2 hydraulic lines for ea. cylinder trying to identify which line is extend, which is retract etc.). I contacted Monaco tech & they said it was a control valve on the manifold.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any insights and comments would be appreciated.
Thanking you in advance.
Pat

I have the same setup on my HR Vacationer. I have a three jack system and my living room slide is controlled by two hydraulic cylinders.
If you are mechanically inclined, you could put two shut off valves in the lines for your suspect cylinder and turn them off after you get the slide fully closed. If it moved then, I would think the cylinder would be the culprit.
Good luck.

I would have more confidence in Lippert Tech guy telling you what the fault was rather than a Monaco tech. The Monaco Techs are great but they are not as much as an expert on one system as the Lippert guy is. If it has failed then the Lippert guy has probably seen it fail. The Monaco Techs are Jack of all Trades and Lippert is the Master of One.

I have the same problem. The front cylinder leaks internally. Ordered a new pistion seal from a hydraulic repair shop. part is due on Thursday.
look at the hose at the end of the cylinder and you will see a color band that matches the hose end at the pump/manifold.
I purchased 3 sets of hose cap/plugs to cap off the cylinder and with a pressure gage you can quickly find which of the two cylinder is bad or both?? and or if the pump/manifold in bad.
My Get home fix was 4 - 7 in long turnbuckel with hook on booth ends
(and 4 u bolts to attact to the slide bracket and cylinder bracket.
with the slide moved in I would lock it closed - held for 1100 miles.
I could access the cylinder bracket in the basement bays looking Up.
I will design a quick positive lock system before this coach leaves home again.
Good luck
Just my 2 cents

Glad you found the problem Gerry! We are on the road now headed back to Florida for a short visit then back home again. I will give you a call on the way back as we may stop by your place if you will be home. Gotta freak out your neighbors with two identical coaches.
Don't forget to post some part numbers for the seals!!

This is what I used to get home after the slide move out on the road, I did have the lock bar in at the top. The slide would still slide out at the bottom and would not be wheather tight. The turnbucket would allow the the seals to be compressed to keep out the water.
I found the turnbuckels at Lowe's (alum 220 lbs ea) with Hooks on both ends and the U bolts. This allow a road fix with only a cresent wrench!
