Listening to radio while parked
Good morning. We just bought a new to us 2009 Camelot 42DSQ. So far, I have not been able to figure out a way to listen to the radio without the key being in the accessory position. I suppose that isn't a big deal as we are always plugged into 50Amps but it seems odd. Our previous coach was not set up this way.
Am I missing something or is that they way it is?
Thanks in advance.

I have wondered the same thing. We have the speakers in the bedroom that only work with the dash radio (and the key needs to be on). Though the actual sound system for the coach gives better sound (no need for key on) ; but it doesn't run to the bedroom speakers.

Must be the way the power is wired to it. Our radio does not require the key to be on but I don't know if it is wired through the chassis or house batteries.
You could rewire yours, just take the power supply wire through the firewall and wire it to the (+) that is on the outside of the firewall. This post provides power for the chassis components.

Is there not a switch on your dash that lets you listen to radio without key on???

Not that I see anywhere. That is how my previous coach worked and it was a very entry level DP. I assumed it would be the same or even easier with this coach.

Bill Willard's 07 Camelot came with a dash radio switch, whereas mine did not. I ordered one from NW RV Salvage so I didn't have to have key on. If you are good with wiring, it shouldn't be a big deal to add one.

My Diplomat has the switch on the dash and one in the bedroom to turn the radio on while in bed. I'm glad it is wired that way because I sure as heck couldn't figure out how to wire it myself. It looks nearly impossible to wire anything in theses dashboards. I'm contemplating putting a better stereo in so I can plug in an auxiliary music source. I dread trying to get behind the dash.

Don't mean to highjack (op's) thread, but I couldn't let this one pass without an offer of advice.
Some if not most of these factory radio setups require special tools to remove from the holders. They slide out from the front. I would adviser you have yours looked at by a stereo shop, or someone who can tell the difference to see if this is the case for your system.
Most of the time, wiring it up is the easy part, and it sounds like you are ready for that part.

Boomer, do you have dash switch?
There are two 12v power wires going to the radio. One is powered with key, the other is on all the time. Install a Radio switch and power it from a12v always on circuit. You can piggyback onto a hot wire from one of the other switches. Then remove the wire that is activated with the key and connect it to other side of radio switch. Use a 3 amp fuse on the new circuit.
The back side of the dash panel often has unused switch holes half way routed out in case a particular optional switch needs to be placed on the dash. You can finish the hole with a Dremel and install a Radio switch there. If not precut, measure one of the others and duplicate the cutout.

Couldn't play the 10 disk changer at all in our rig when we first got it. There was a selector switch over the passenger dash but it didn't seem to do anything. Finally took a panel out and found a disconnected wire. Took me hours of searching and looking at the wiring diagrams to figure it out. Plus I had to take a door off and panel out to see the wiring. Fun when you buy a used rig and stuff has been changed! Still don't know what model Samsung TV was installed in the overhead.

On our '02 Dutch Star there was an A B switch on the bottom of the AV cabinet to switch the speakers around, plus the amplifier had to be set correctly to boot.
