Location of Camelot Fuel Filters

Hi all,

I bought a 2006 Camelot 42 DSQ in January and was looking for the fuel filters to change them. I found one that was right by the fuel tank but the owners manual talks about a primary and secondary filter. I have looked and looked for the second one but can't find it. Anyone have any ideas.

Thanks,
John Parker

We have a 07 Camelot, PDQ, & the fuel filters are side by side, on the right side in the engine compartment -- If the filter you found has Blue writing, & a "R" on it, it`s the AquaHot filter -- Bill Willard

John I always Chang my primary filter and start the engine and run a few minutes then I stop the engine and change the secondary filter, I also cycle the key to run (don't start the engine). The elec fuel pump to prime the secondary it will run a few seconds then stop turn the key off and leave off about 2 min or less then cycle until you get fuel out, i forgot the wait time.On the primary you can use a 3/4 inch npt nipple to screw into filter to keep Fuel out of the outlet side of the filter.

I know that many mechanics tell you to never prime the fuel filters by prefilling. However if you buy FleetGuard( Cummins) filters they have a diagram on the filter showing you how to prefill the filter. These filters come with a red plastic plug to prevent any unfiltered oil from entering the center of the filter. I never prefilled until one day when the Dynasty would not start after changing filters. I did that toggling of the ignition switch to no avail. Finally after maybe 15 cycles it started. I was in Mexico and 60 miles from anywhere. I had visions of either opening up the bed area to purge the air out of the injection lines or spending many pesos for Cummins to come out and fix the problem. Never again. If Cummins says itis OK that is good enought for me.

Moisheh good idea on the filter with the plug but most of my filters dont have a plug so i have a nipple for the fill, on priming the secondary what works for me is I leave the filter loose and when i see fuel i tighten it up, I have the 350 ISC and know you probably have the ISL 425 but dont see why your engine would not prime the same way.
