Location of oil pressure gauge sending unit

I'm looking for my sending unit for the oil gauge. I have found the unit for the
light and the alarm and and there are two sending units on the fuel pump side
of the engine but they aren't wired to the gauge. I also don't know what they are for. This is and 8.3 cummins and a 98 Dynasty

I just replaced my oil pressure gauge sending unit. Yes, there are two sending units, one for the gauge and one for the ECU. The sending unit for the gauge even has two outputs, one for the gauge and one for the low oil pressure light.
My sending unit is on the passenger side of the engine just above the starter. The sending unit is a VDO universal unit used for many applications: VDO 360 023

Hope this helps. Most of the Cummins inline 6 cylinder diesels are very simliar, just different sizes.

Don't know the answer to your question but I have the same engine. Would be interested in what you find out.

So the one that has 2 outputs is for the gauge also. So it looks like I have an open circuit
from the gauge to the sending unit as I grounded the other wire and no results. Where to look. I will run a wire from the gauge to the sending unit and try that. My gauge quit this
summer and a few days latter it started up again, so a bad connection some where.

I ran a wire from the gauge to the sender and it works. Thanks Vito that helped a lot.
Now I need to find where the open circuit is. Last summer when the oil pressure
gauge quit working so did the trans temperature gauge quit working. Does any one has
any idea where to look
