Hello All,
Somewhere from the time I checked my oil and the present, one of the bent metal tabs on the engine compartment lock was lost. Evidently the nut holding it to the shaft came loose and it fell off. This is the part that is at the end of the lock or knobs accessed by the Barrel key to cam down the door. The same one is used for the electric and Battery Compartments. I just need the bent metal tab itself not the whole mechanism. I have been searching the internet and dealer parts catalogs with no luck.
I suppose I could attempt to make one but I figured someone here would know where to find one.
I could post a photo of one, but I first would have to figure out how to post a photo here.
Barrier
Hope I am not being a pain with all my questions.

Thanks for the response. McMaster is certainly a wise choice for any hardware.
I already bought one of those, unfortunately it is about 1/4 inch too short as well as a shallower bend. The original is 1 3/4 long by 9/16 wide by 3/16 thick steel, most probably overkill.
I am sure these same locks are used in other manufacturers models, I just don't know which.

Barrier2....Go to your local locksmith....they should have a whole assortment of tabs. Even if they have a larger one, it should work.
