Looking For Input

Looking at a 2008 Monaco Monarch 30SFS with Ford Triton V10. Unit has jsut over 30,000 miles and the current owner is known to be trustworthy. What should I be looking for when I do my checkout? I plan on taking it to an RV mechanic for his opinion if I get serious about handing over my hard earned cash. Mostly looking for known issues. Thanks, Mike

First off: This is a lot of RV in a 30-foot length. Literature I've reviewed shows that there is no Inverter included, thus no 120VAC from a 12-volt battery "house bank". But if you plan to camp strictly in sites with power, then no big deal. I think the gas generator runs at 3600 RPM (it would run more quietly if the generator was a "generator/inverter"). If you moved up to a diesel pusher (engine in the rear), then the basement storage volume is a lot more (no driveshaft to contend with). Finally this is truck chassis, so the suspension is that of a truck. Engine forward is noisy.

But if the rig has good service records, you're stepping into a nice gas rig. I don't see any red flags here.
