I have a 09 35 SBD Cayman 340 HP Cummins. I can't find the electrical motor that operates the road side small bedroom slideout. It has wire cables (2 on each side) that are visible from the outside that must be pulled by pullys and a motor. I'll be dardned if I can figure out how it works. Any help is appreciated. Currently in San Diego and headed to southern Arizona.

Thanks. The manuals were helpful although to understand how the system works but I still can't find/get to the motor. I'm sure it is coach and model specific and perhaps the manufacturer Bal Accu-slide can help me.

Regards

Ted

Don't forget you can call Monaco Tech Support. I think they are getting more staff so they can answer phone calls quicker.

Why do you think you need the motor?

I don't know that I need a motor, but I'm trying to get to the motor to check it or possibly turn it manually to retract the small slide. I now understand it can be turned with a drill motor or ratchet. I have determined it must be in a narrow compartment below the ceiling above the slide but there are trim boards that are nailed on and an upright wall section in the middle with an overheard sliding door track in front of it. I'm sure someone has done this before me and not had to take the back of the coach apart to get at the motor. Thanks to all that respond,

ted

I have removed the panel above the slide.... On mine it is a fake board on the front it was like Styrofoam covered with a fake wood. I just pulled a little and it came off. When I went to put it back on I just lined up the holes and pushed and it went back on.

FYI, I broke a cable. Make sure when the slide is almost all the way in the cables are straight and not trying to lift or pull down on the slide.

Perhaps this this page from the 2009 Owner's Manual (2008 should be similar) may be of help.

The motor is above the slideout on the wall behind a facade.

Ted,
Hopefully the dealer did not steal it but you should have an item that looks like a 1/4" drive extender in your books/parts that came with the motor home. This extender is what would be used if you had to manually retract the slide.

If my dealer did happen to steal it,... Any suggestion where to get one?
