Looking for the Auto Gen Start Location

I'm about to remove our Trace Xantrex rv2000 inverter and replace it with a Magnum MS2812, monitor, BMS and new Auto gen start. Does anyone know where the old model gen start is located and what it looks like. I'll need to tie into those wirers instead of running new. With no wiring diagram and wires that just disappear into the many looms of wire, it hard to trace. Any ideas?

After finding the manual on the web, it turns out the AGS is built into the inverter.

Ditto on built in, you will need to order the AGS (auto gen start) option when ordering your new inverter.

You’ll need to find the gen run sense wire for the Magnum. It was a gray wire in the bedside cabinet in my coach.

The Magnum Auto Gen Start (AGS-N) is a separate part from the Magnum inverter. You can install the AGS-N right next to the new inverter, but as Dennis said you'll need to find the generator run sense wire.
In our 2004, the generator run sense is a gray wire connected to the temperature controlled Ridge Creek Auto Gen start. This wire tells the AGS when the generator is actually running.
I wrote a detailed thread on changing from a Trace inverter to a Magnum MSH3012. Your swap to an MH2812 will be much easier.

Also attached is a list of wire color codes and what terminal they go to.

The new Magnum MS 2812 inverter, AGS, BMK and remote monitor came today. I took the old Xandrex Tracer rv2000 out tonight. I'll have to wrestle those stiff wires around and get it hooked up tomorrow. Seems like I read somewhere that that one of the monitor phone connectors will have to be cut off, flipped and reattached if I don't want to run new wire. Is that true?

I'm still puzzled on the AGS wiring. Barmcd, the grey wire is in the bed side cabinet when the generator is in the front? Why would it be back there?

The wires colors at the Xantrex Trace are as follows;

Starting on the left,

Gen stop 2 - Green

Gen stop 1 - Brown

Gen stop 3- no wire

Gen start 2 - Red

Gen start 1 - Brown

Pre heat 1 - no wire

Pre heat 2 - no wire

Gen run - no wire

thermostat+ no wire

thermostat- no wire

Any idea where they go on the ME-AGS-N?

Puzzled

It's all laid out in the manual for the ME-AGS, there is a specific example for the Onan QD generator.

http://www.magnum-dimensions.com/sit...v-2-6-2012.pdf

These are my colors

pin 2 is gray (run sense)
pin 3 and 4 self explanatory
pin 5 Yellow (gen start)
pin 6 black (ground)
pin 7 brown (gen stop)

Here's the thread I started on installing the AGS.

Magnum AGS-N

You will probably need a better splitter than the one supplied by Magnum.
