to find a forum for my RV...SAHARA..model..SAFARI..1995..cummins/allison combo...losses or hard to get fuel to engine and how to check why cruise stopped working...book says okay to crank for 2 minutes..seems odd...think that level in tank if not full is the problem..someone said to check the check valve in first fuel filter...could be true but scared to take it apart...any ideas?????? wondering if this message wil get lost in cyber-space

A bit more information....
how long since it last ran
was it then running OK, or did you notice a problem
Diesel must have compression, and fuel to start. DO NOT use either starting fluid, ever!
You should be able to check for fuel at any injector connection, crack it, crank, see if any fuel bubbles out, keep hands clear when cranking, if it is working correctly, there will be high pressure fuel, injection into your skin can be very nasty.
Put your additional info up here, you will likley get the right fix before long!

  • Once the beast crank's up it runs till i shut-er down. I thought having a full tank would help thinking the fuel would drain back through the #1 fuel filter because of a bad check valve that was said could be the problem. There is no eletric fuel pump. Correct me if i'm wrong but i've always thought that an in-line fuel pump needs to be close to the tank and best if gravity fed. They can push but not to good pulling fuel. This unit is 16yrs. old but its a peach. Have another problem with the cruise control dropping out with no change in RPM as far as surging or rough running. Been looking for a bad connection or ground.

hi FREE TO ROAM.......thanks for the input...still haven't taken the 1st fuel filter apart...can't do the fuel line thing, am a loner, no help...filled up the tank thinking that would help but no joy...thought of pressure in the tank but would have to put a stop valve in the overflow line....lots of engineering.....thinking of the return to tank fuel line, naw, any ideas? bingo1492 after it starts runs like a clock..a fine clock, no stammer, no stutter.....a peach
