LP generator issues

I have an ONAN Lp Generator that when I go to start may or maynot run for a little or shut right back off. If I keep trying sooner or later it will keep running, but when I turn on the AC it shuts off. Then I go thru starting over and over then it will run and everything is fine I can load all I want and it runs till I shut it off. Any ideas? If it would do one thing like not run or run and shut off under load always I could eliminate some items but there is no rhyme or reason when and how it works.

Jim13...can you please supply the model number of your Generator? I don't know that it will help ... but it certainly won't hurt either!!

You may want to check to be sure the vent for the LP regulator is not clogged by mud dobber or other insect.

It's a 6.3 model. If I'm correct in the vent it's the piece with the release valve on top. This does release and then it takes longer for the moter to start. Today I went out and it worked on the first start. It's driving me nuts. There is no 2 times it works the same. I checked at Camping world and they said it's $145.00 just to diagnos and what if it works? I did buy a fel filter but when I looked over the gen. I can't find the same thing they gave me? Thanks to all, sorry for the ramblings.
