OK guys,
How do you know when there is enough grease in the slip yoke?
Where do you see the grease coming out?
Some say you have to hold your finger over the VERY small hole in the end and some say you don't have to.
I have pumped a lot of grease into it and have NOT seen come out.
I would think there has to be some room inside for air.

If possible you should insert grease while coach is at ride position, when jacked up, the drive shaft may extend to where cavity is enlarge by shaft and yoke being in a extended position.

Phil, the firtst time you do it it pumps in grease forever then suddenly it will start to come out a real small hole at the end right behind the U Joint. When that happens you can put your finger over that hole and keep pumping. I have unscrewed the grease seal at the end of the outer driveshaft slip and then waited for the grease to come out there. Once you get it filled then it is easy to keep greasing it. In case you didn't know the idea for all grease points and U Joints is to keep shooting in the new grease so it pushes out the old grease and you stop when you see the new grease come out. That is pretty hard to do on the driveshaft slip joint because you will be pumping in grease forever so once full I shoot new grease in so I get a fair amount of old grease out then I stop. Since you should new this every 5000 miles it is going to circulate enough grease to keep it happy. As drifter says if you raise the motor home way up then the differential drops down and the driveshaft telescopes out and that interanal cavity gets bigger and take more grease to fill it.

Drifter, If you are doing your own lube, are you driving up on boards or using safety jack stands when underneath with the coach at ride height?
