Greetings all:

I have no ideal where to post this question so Monaco owners it is all yours. I have a queen bed that is not too bad but not good enough so I bought one of those memory foam mattress pads. 3" thick and I must say it made a fantastic sleeping bed. So I live in Denver and the Monaco is parked outside my house. That said I have not been in it this winter but was looking for a book and checked the Monaco motorhome and when I reached across the bed it was like I was touching plywood. It has been in the 20's here and the foam pads was as hard as a rock. Now all this for the question:

Does anyone know if cold, sub zero, destroys memory foam mattress pads. If so I will start looking for another one on sale before summer. If not I hope it goes back to normal and I will have some more great sleepings.

Thanks,
Don

What you experienced is exactly the chemistry of the memory foam. I gives with increased temperature, and that makes your body to sink in to it. The foam gets softer at the contact points with your body (because of your body temperature at these points).

Once your mattress gets warmer again, it again will be nice and comfy for you!

Hey thanks for the response Am I safe to think it will come back to normal and it is not destroyed? My big concern is I told my father-in-law how wonderfull the bed is and he is coming to colorado for a 10 day trip this summer. And he gets the bed!

We have a Tempurpedic mattress in our motorhome. It does get hard in the cold weather. Since we are hanging out in Arizona and are living in the motorhome, it doesn't really get a chance to get hard since the the interior has stayed pretty warm. We love the mattress!!

I've had a tempurpedic for 5 years now and wouldn't be without it. It does get rather firm when cold but quickly reverts back to it's comfortable feel with body heat. You haven't damaged it.
