A few days ago I scored a link here for the medalion message center manual.
Then I got the build sheet for me "soon to be new to us" 08 Knifgt, and it has the optional "alladin" system, whatever that is.

What is it?
I*s it different than medalion?
Anyone got the book?

Sorry for all the questions.... when I don't even have the coach yet. But I'm just too excited, want to know everything, right now!

The coach you are getting must be an early 08 like my endeavor. I actually like the Addadin better than the Medalion message Center. The system was built by Monaco, the good news is that the systemm is very well described in the Monaco owners manual. The system outputs a video signal that gets displayed on the rearview monitor. I didn't like having to always switch screens to see the data, so I added an addition monitor for just the alladin system in the forward end of the LH drivers console. I got a 7" LCD display off E-Bay for about $60 and mounted it using a Ram-Mount. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I think someone else on the board did the same mod and posted pictures.

I just found a link to the Mod by Robin_M. Here is a link to his mods: http://virt1.enter.net/~robmorgan/Dip/Mods.htm

I don't have the Alladin on my 08 Coach, it was built after Monaco discontinued tha Alladin option. I've seen it on several coaches and it's a good system, but,

OTOH, I've had respected IT Tech advise that it can be a problem to maintain if it breaks because the techs who used to program the OEM boards at Monaco are long gone. This particular tech pointed to three Monaco coaches on his lot (December 09) - a Signature and two Dynasty's - and said all three had broken Alladins. He pulls the boards, sends them back to the OEM who downloads the microcode, uploads it to the replacement board and sends back the new unit. Takes about four weeks and you don't even want to think about the costs. So make sure yours works right before you accept delivery.

if mine ever went out I think I would get a VMS Pc unit and call it good, it would be a lot cheaper.

Jim I do not have the Alladin but I do have hard copy manual...you should get one in your literature when you pick up the coach...if not let me know and I will mail you my copy. I have used one before and as describe it monitors systems and trip info, etc. Medallion is a mfg of gauges ...Monaco buys from them ...you can find them on the web still very much in business.
