MH has no chassis electrical power
Stuck here in a rest stop
There is no chassis 12v power on my dash and the engine wont crank
It is dead.
The chassis battery has full power
The house battery has full power
The generator doesnt have 12v power so i cant start that either
My guess is somewhere a solenoid or relay is preventing power to the chassis 12v panel by the front wheels
Monaco is closed today
All service shops in the area are closed until wednesday
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jim

The first thing inline would be your battery disconnect switch, you will have to check there for power and then move down the line untill you come to something like a fuseable link or follow it to a solenoid. Do you have a meter with you and are you able to do this?

Check fuses (multiple) marked IGN in the rear engine run bay fuse box. Did you also switch off your battery disconnect and then turn it back on? When you turn your key to the on position (not the start position) are you seeing anything light up on the dash or on the allison transmission pad to your left?

Are you sure you are talking about solenoids and not relays?
Here is a link to a thread that may help you. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/prob...ve-141875.html

Thanks for the correction.
There is only one solenoid, says 12V CONT. STARTER SOLENOID.
But there are 10 relays. These are
ALT FAIL
RIGHT TURN
LEFT TURN
FUEL FILTER
A/C CLUTCH
IGNITION
NEUTRAL SAFETY
HYDRAULIC FAN
LIVING SLIDE OUT
BEDROOM SLIDE OUT
The relays are type 87 or 87a

There should be another solenoid for the "salesman switch" in there also. If not there, it may be in your streetside front run bay.

Have you tried the battery boost on the left hand side of the drivers seat? It ties the house battery into the chassis battery.
I had a similar problem earlier this year. It was a bad chassis battery, and, the reason it went bad is because it wasn't being charged. The only way I could start it was with the switch that tied the house and chassis battery together.
PS: are you in a warm climate or stuck up in the frigid north country?

Hi, a freightliner chassis I owned had the same problem, no power to the dash board, although I'm sure there could be more than one cause for it.
If your chassis has a simular configuration, I'd recommend checking if 12 volt 'power' is present at the firewall, driver's side. On my chassis, I opened the front hood, on the driver's side there are two cables bringing power from the rear to the front, one carries 12 volt, one ground. Verify you have power at the lugs.
When I checked my chassis, I found no 12 volts. I traced the problem to a defective 125 amp circuit breaker. The breaker was located on the frame, battery compartment side. On the freightliner chassis I owned, there were two circuit breakers and the starter solenoid, all three grouped close together.

The power to start a motor on that Executive does not go through the battery disconnect switch or the salesman switch. It comes directly off the chassis battery via about a 8 or 10 gauge wire. Do you have headlights? If your headlights come on then that wire off the battery is good. If no headlights then check that wire off the positive terminal of the battery post and follow it. Use your multimeter to verify power. The other possibility is that you lost the ground cable connection off the battery which will cause all to go dead.
