Missing harness for bedroom speakers
A couple of years ago we replaced the factory installed sound system in our 2007 Diplomat. We replaced it with a Sony receiver which we placed outside the overhead compartment in the drivers side. Apart from the receiver dying on us twice the system has worked well.
When replacing the receiver last time we got a model that only had connections for the front set of speakers, and since we rearly would use the bedroom speakers this was OK for us. Now the receiver has died again (it goes into "Protect mode" and won't come out of this) we will replace it with a receiver that has the option to connect both front and rear speakers.
I have now started to sort all the wires in the overhead locker, but I seem to be missing a harness. I can't locate the wires for the rear speakers. My manual - page 125, lower right hand corner - shows a harness for exactly these speakers but the harness is not in the overhead locker. The speakers was working at some point so the wires must be there.
This is what I expected to find:
Rear speakers have green and purple wires. These run from the speakers to the overhead locker and on their way they pass through the switch mounted in the roof of the overhead locker so I can turn the rear speakers off when I don't want them. I have taken the switch apart and two green and two purple wires is attached to the switch. I would expect these wires to continue to a harness in the overhead locker, but.......... There is no harness to be found and therefore nowhere to connect the rear speakers.
The overhead locker is in-cased in a plastic box and countless wires are coming out of 2 small holes leading to the rear of the plastic encasing. Only thing I could think of is that the harness have been pushed through this hole and now is hiding where I can't reach it.
Can anyone tell me if I should have a wire harness for the rear speakers in the overhead locker?

There should be one. I think all Monacos are wired pretty much the same way, if you had an overhead sound system as opposed to the Magnadyne multi center with DVD player. In my coach the speaker wiring harness is connected to a switch box, can't remember who makes it, that changes the speakers from sound system to radio and vice versa which is in turn connected to both the sound system wiring harness and the radio wiring harness.

In my 06 endeavor the bedroom speakers are connected to the radio not the surround sound system. The rear speakers for the surround are located in the kitchen area. So there should be wiring for 5 + sub woofer in cabinet over the driver and wiring for 3 pairs of radio speakers is behind the radio in the center of the dash. Of course Monaco kept changing the surround system and radio so there may be a difference between 06 and 07.

Hi, Great Dane
Take a look at how this thread shows up in the

Hey Dane,
See if the attached .jpg gives you any more info on the wiring.

Mine is the same as "itdave". My Home Theater system wiring runs (3) speakers up front, (2) speakers mid coach and a large sub woofer. My indash radio is connected to three sets of speakers, two up front, two mid coach and two in the bedroom. I have a switch in the bedroom that allows me to turn the dash radio on.
