Does the grey signal wire of the tach simply terminate on the Relay terminal of the 28SI?

Thanks in advance.
Did you mean to say the "Tach was working before the swap.."? If it was not working before and is not working after, then perhaps the Tach is broken.

Here's the wiring diagram for the Delco 28SI.

CountryB,
Nope, it wasn't working. None of the literature I could google up on the 25-12 spoke of the alternator getting a signal from it, So I never terminated anything to "relay/Tachometer/ADLO system) terminal. I googled the part number off the VDO tach but couldn't find any info on what each terminal of the gauge is for so....It lead me to here....I've since stumbled accros a dash wiring diagram and believe the grey wire off the back of the tach is signal wire, so I can trace out the signal wire from the tach and see if it ends on the old alternator wiring harness. But...Dumb question time...is it fair to assume the 28SI Tach relay output is what the 25-12 Powerline output was if it had one? I'd hate to hurt the tach..or the alternator for that matter.

Thanks everyone

Im not sure how the Tach in your coach is powered. The Powerline service manual does not specify which terminal could be used for a tach signal. Try the "R" terminal on the Delco.

Hi James,

My 28SI drove the factory tach just fine on our 94 Signature. I donít have it any more to check the wiring
