Mike looks great buddy, coming along. How tall is the RV garage opening?

Thanks Perry, I appreciate that.

The ceiling height throughout both the shop and the RV storage bay is 16'. The RV bay garage door is 16' wide by 14' tall. I built it to accommodate even the largest of RV in the event we ever go that direction. Don't know that we will but just in case. It would be a bit tighter with a 45' coach in there but I would still have 3' behind the coach and approx. 18" between the front and the garage door.

I jokingly keep telling the wife, "on the next coach we won't have to be so picky to find everything we want in a 40' model, we could go all the way up to a 45' Foretravel if we want and it will still fit in the garage." She generally just rolls her eyes. Who knows, maybe one day as we get closer to retirement but for our now our little 40 foot Dynasty will have to do.

Mike.

Thank you Wayne, I appreciate the comments and for stopping in and checking on things. Sorry not more to report on the actual coach at this time. Hopefully we will have her back in about 6 weeks or so and get back to doing some traveling and Jeeping.

So I am assuming you are using Precision Painting, that is who we used to paint our rig. Awesome work and attention to detail. On ours anyway.

I hear you on the Foretravel! They make it so hard not to look. The wife figured all the work I'm putting into the 08 Camelot, I'll be to wore out to start over!
I said it's like race cars, I had 4 circle track cars for different size tracks and 2 road race cars. RVs can be just like RC, one for all the toys, one for long haul etc. she wasn't smiling[emoji51]

Mike not investigating yet, but was the roll up RV door stock design or custom?

Neil, Precision is not the shop that is painting mine. I am using Mike's Custom Painting. I've seen a few of their jobs over the past couple of years and have been quite impressed with their work. Time will tell on my coach.

Foretravel just happens to be on my short list of next coaches Perry. Not saying I will be getting one, I am just impressed with them and wouldn't mind having a Phenix of Nimbus parked in my stable. Don't know that I ever will but it's fun to dream. For now I am happy with my old Dynasty, hopefully even more pleased when I get it back from paint next month.

The 14x16 insulated garage door was not one in stock but not necessarily a special order. When researching RV specific garages and sizes I was getting information anywhere from 12' wide to 20' wide and most people who used a 12' wide door said if they were to do it over they would have gone with a 14' wide door. When I was talking to my general contractor inquiring about the 14' wide vs. 16' wide door for the overall project there was no real cost difference so I opted to go with the 16' wide door and a 20' wide bay. The 20' wide bay is a little oversized for an RV garage only but my thinking was with a dividing wall between the RV storage bay and the shop it will give me another wall of storage space. I will also house some tools that are not frequently used compared to others in there plus some shelving so the wide door will be nice going in and out with the coach parked in there.

Hope that all makes sense but I see it clearly in "my" head.

Mike.

Another teaser shot, but this one of the new shop and RV storage bay now that I have all my concrete completed. In all 105 cubic yards of concrete from the street back to the shop/RV garage and then another 48 yards of concrete in the shop/RV garage floor.

Thanks for looking.

I have sod for the back yard scheduled for this coming Friday and the front section will be after my fence and mow strip is complete.

I've been working on the back yard for nearly 4 months now and finally was able to install my sprinkler system last weekend in preparation for sod.

Hopefully by the weekend we have green in the backyard.

Mike
