We want to give praise when praise is due! We had a problem with our kitchen faucet in our 04 Camelot. I called Moen. Since I did not have a model name or number, the representative asked me to send a picture which I did via my smartphone. She called immediately and said she would ship a new faucet head by Fed Ex at no charge since Moen is guaranteed for life. We received it in 2 days. Looks beautiful. Nice to have such wonderful customer service.

Well done Moen.

We just changed one of ours to a Moen a couple of month ago. Makes sense now.

We got tired of the touchy temperature adjustment on our shower and changed the faucet out for a Moen. What a difference! No problem setting the temperature to a comfortable setting now. You can view my photos here:

I would like to change out my "TOUCHY" shower control also. Do I see a water shut off at the bottom of the "hose"? Thanks Bob and Pam for the pictures and explanations.

Yes deSanford, the shut off valve is for taking a Navy shower when we wish to conserve water. We prefer it over the shut off valves that come with shower heads because it will cut the water off completely and you don't have to endure the drip drip. The ones you buy at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. do not shut the water off all the way to comply with plumbing codes. The one in the photo came from the Water Filter Store:
RV Water Filter Store: Standard Filter Canisters for Whole RV

4th item down on the page linked above.

Thanks for the info on the shut off valve. It is now #5 on the page. That is exactly what I was looking for, because once I get the temp set where I like it I don't want to shut off the water and try to find the "sweet" spot with limited water. The price was excellent ......the same as the shipping costs. Not too bad when you consider NO sales tax.

My bad! I have the square root of 2 and the square root of 3 memorized but can't count to 5. Go figure.

Happy New Year

What was the model # of the Moen used for your shower "nodine". Looks like it might have been deleted.

Thank you ........went down to my local Home Depot and purchased the Moen Adler L82691.
The model #s are close. The unit I purchased is only for a "shower" no tub capabilities. It came with two control knobs, one round and one similar to the original control handle. Not yet sure which one I will use.

Maybe I got the wrong Moen. The output is on top. I notice on the picture that you might have put a "plug" (forgot the proper name) on the top of your valve and used the bottom port to go to the MH's shower via the remote shut off. Otherwise I will have to connect the hot and cold water lines into the valve ( with the shower port upside down) and turn the knob in a different direction than "normal" during use. Yes after looking at the pictures again I will return this unit and get the one for tub and shower. Glad I didn't open the box........back it goes.

Sanford,

Yes, take it back and get one with the bath tub down connection. It will have a connection on top for a home style shower head and a connection on the bottom for the bath tub spout. Get a plug and screw into the top connection. Use Teflon tape to seal it. The long pipe in the photos connects to the bottom of the Moen where a home bath tub spout would normally be connected. If they do not have the Moen with the double water outputs get them to order it or go to a plumbing supply house.

Good luck,

Bob

I purchased an American Standard, and a brass plug for the top of the unit. What I liked about it was the fact that you pull up on the lever and rotate for the temp you like. Then you can push it down and it can stay at that new angle. The big difference over the existing Monaco unit is that it is real nice and smooooooooooth. It also has a temp safety built in so you can't scald yourself. If you need it set for a higher temp it can be done. There is NO plastic or wood spacer....it is pulled forward with long screws and held to the back of the fiberglass. Or so it is supposed too. Nice little project for sure. That was one of the items on my list that I wanted Monaco to fix. They said it wasn't the control it was me not knowing how to use it properly. Mine was a "hair" one way cold or too HOT. It had to be almost perfect. One of the few things in life that I look forward to.......a nice shower with a easy to operate control. Thanks Bob and Pam for the impudence to do this.

I believe my spell check gave me the wrong word "impudence". I meant a word like input.
