Dave, that is a good looking Signature. Which motor is in it, the Cummins ISM 500? Are you buying it from an RV dealer or is it a private sales. You need to check the DOT date on the tires which will tell you how old the tires really are. Six years from the DOT is the max life so if they are only around two years old that will be great. Does it have an Aqua-Hot heating system? Is there any warranty on it. How much is it going for? I would guess a good price would be somewhere around $130000 plus or minus a little. They ride like a dream.

I have a 2004 Signature with all the options. Remember this the more options the more that can go wrong so you need to make sure everything works before you buy it. I can give you a list of what has been breaking in all the Signatures that I know about.

Dave,

Looks like a very clean coach and the asking price appears to be in the ballpark. The low mileage is not nearly as important as the regular maintenance it has received. If there are maintenance records then go over them in detail. With the low mileage the following service items may have never been done:
1. Transmission fluid & filters
2. Coolant replacement
3. Front wheel bearing clean & repack or replace with oiler hubs
4. Air dryer service
5. Differential oil replacement
6. Hydraulic filter replacement
7. Aqua hot service
8. Generator service

Engine oil & filter should have been changed annually regardless of mileage. Chassis lube should be done at least annually with some items needing service every 5,000 miles.

I would ask for a oil and trans fluid analysis from Blackstone labs for your piece of mind.

I would ask for a complete service to include all of the above items as part of the deal.

Test the generator by starting it and then loading it up as close to max as possible by running the heat pumps, convection oven and any thing else for about an hour.

Run the Aqua hot on diesel & make sure it is burning clean with very little diesel smell.

The Sigs are great coaches. My wife & I have lived in our '03 for 4 years now and it is truly a wonderful coach. The Series S chassis is very strong and has great road manners. The Cummins ISM has a very good power to weight ratio and is capable of 8 mpg with careful driving. We are currently parked in the mountains of east Tennessee and the temps have been down into the teens. The Aqua Hot has kept us warm and we have had no problem with condensation.

If all goes well, go for the deal and keep in touch.
