Monaco Air Bag Leak/part number?
I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I would to start by thanking all those who have posted in the past because I have found a wealth of good information on these forums.
I have a 2002 Diplomat PST and the problem I currently have is a leaking right rear air bag. The bag has about an 1/8inch hole in it. I have driven about 130 since I realized that I had a problem. The compressor in the coach has kept up with the air loss but I want to replace the air bag. As a temporary fix I am thinking of using a tubeless tire plug kit to temporarily patch the hole since it is in the side of the bag. (Any comments or suggestions?)
I finally found the Monaco tech support number and I will call them tomorrow to see if I can get a part number. I have not contacted Monaco support since the buyout and the number was not easy to find on the forum.
I am currently in Gallup, NM headed to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta tomorrow.
If anyone has part number information or a parts source I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Monaco Air Bag Leak/part number? Update.
Thanks to Texnet for the reply with the part numbers. I did get in touch with Monaco Support today and they looked up the part numbers for my coach number. It seems that in 2002 there was a vendor change and they have to look up the air bags by coach #.
Monaco Support was very help full and gave me both Monaco and Firestone #s. Monaco had the part for about $421. I checked with Fleet Pride and that have the Firestone part number for $126. Monaco is great to support the older coaches and I can understand their pricing but I ordered from Fleet Pride!
An update to my air problem. I was able to plug the hole in the bag with a tubeless tire plug. We drove about 140 miles after the repair and everything is working great. The tire plug was a great temporary fix but I didn't trust it long term. We are at the Balloon Fiesta and plan on installing the new bag before I leave for home.

Glad you found the air bag. Now here is a tip. On my 2001 Diplomat, the fender well is hinged at the top. There are a couple of screws on the bottom into the frame. Remove the screws and the fender well will lift up. You will need a prop or perhaps a cord to tie it up. If it has never been raised like this, then on the front and rear there will be lots of black foam sprayed. This needs to be cut loose from the fender so you can swing it up. You then have a clear view of both air bags. When finished you can spray some expanding foam on the front and rear but it is not necessary.

I show that a 94 uses a Firestone FS6908 for the front and a 96 uses a Goodyear Super Cushion 2B9 ... sorry, don't have any info for a 95.

Thanks for all the responses. We are at the Albuquerque Ballloon Fiesta and I expect the new air bag next Wednesday. In response to Texnet, I will post the part number for my coach when I am sure that I have the RIGHT part numbers. Since Monaco says that 2 different airbags were used in 2002 and they needed my coach number I felt it best to wait until I had verified the PN before posting them.
Rex, I appreciate the tip on the fender. I had learned that previously but unfortunately not until after I had replaced the shocks!
A few more observations on my problem: I think I can trace the damaged air bag to a blowout on the RR outer tire 3 years ago. The blow out was from an unknown road hazard and there was some body damage on the fender well near the air bag.
I was able to use a tire plug on the hole. The air line connection to the air bag is a brass female fitting screwed to a male steel fitting on the bag. The brass fitting is frozen and I will probably just cut the air line. The fitting appear to be the slip in compression type fitting that I am sure I can replace. I believe that the the collar can be lifted with a screwdriver and the hose pulled out. I found that I do carry a compression splice for that size air line and I think I will buy a second one so the I would be able to splice a line if needed. I will update when the job is completed.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill, if the air line fitting is what I have, it is not a compressed fitting. The end must be pushed toward the fitting to release the air line. It works like the Chinese handcuffs. Pushing it can be a problem in that dirt collects in the very small space between the very end and the body. Use an open end wrench that just fits over the air line and is smaller than the fitting and press hard, the wiggle the air line while pulling outward. If it does not release, spray some water on the fitting and try and clean dirt out of the space between the end and body. NAPA has a good supply of air line and fittings if you need any.

Update on air bag problem with Part Numbers.
I am pleased to announce that my new air bag is installed and the old one with the tire plug is safely stored as a spare. The original part number that I was given by Monaco Support after I gave the my coach number was the wrong part. I was able able to get a partial part number from the old bag and with the assistance of the great people at Fleet Pride in Albuquerque I had the correct part the next day. I am attaching pictures of the 2 different air bags with the correct part numbers. I hope this will help others.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

Bill, the 6948 double donut bag looks like the one on my front axle and the 9376 looks like the ones on my rear axle.
Are you saying you had the same type bag on both front and rear? Which one was the WRONG one Monaco gave you the number of?

Rex,
Sorry for the confusion. If you click on the images to enlarge them you see their names which helps to clarify the issue but I should have added labels to my images.
I did not look at my front bags until after your last email and all my bags are the 9376 PN. The double donut bag (6948) was the one that Monaco Support said belonged on the rear of my coach number.
The spacing of the mounting bolts for the two bags are different. Hopefully the pictures and part numbers will help others identify their air bags.
