We have a 2002 Monaco 40DST diesel pusher on a Roadmaster chassis with 8 airbag suspension. Lately, the right side goes"down" after sitting for about 3 days. It comes back up when I run the engine/compressor. The previous owner had one of the level air valves replaced last summer by a shop and the height checked/set. Anybody have this problem/solution before ?

My entire rear drops to the ground overnight. Yes, on my coach too!

Monaco says it is "within normal specifications."

If the coach is not exactly level or the ride height is not exactly correct side to side, one side may exhaust air until the aux tank gets low. Sometimes my bags will stay up a week and sometimes one goes flat overnight.

Air the coach up and take a spray bottle with a soap water mixture and check the level valve lines and lastly the air bags on the left side.

Bud Monaco always says that but if you will do the same with soap and water you will probably find all kinds of leaks in the front gen compartment and under the coach.

I have 94 executive with 8 bag system, front started to drop after sitting 2 days and finally got to where it would drop after 2 hours. Problem turned out to be left front rear bag, material had numerous pin hole leaks from age, it still looked ok and could only be detected by spraying soapy water on the bag at normal air pressure. Ordered it myself on line from Goodyear (about $90)(get part # off bottom of bag) had local shop replace it (about $75) works good and holds air press great now.

Thanks Ronbstewart. Good advice and will put it on the to-do list if it comes to that. Right now I'm monitoring the situation and trying a few things before I get to far into it. Just drill I dumped all the air and then brought it back up to pressur with the engine...it leveled out fine. Then I took the MH out for a 20 mile run in traffic with lots of braking, etc air work. Brought it back and checked the level height at 9 1/4 front and 11 1/2 rear per the Monaco manual and it was right on. So far it has sat for two days with no droop and air gauges have only droped 10 pounds. I'll keep a watch and hopefully it was only a quirk?? Thanks again for your suggestion.

Two things here. If the HWH was leveled before you shut everything down then as long as there is more than 105 psi in the main air tanks it will keep on leveling as needed. If the tanks get below 105 psi then a small auxiliary air compressor supplies enough air to maintain the MH at a level position. So my question is if you are shutting off all the power either before the system has completed its leveling or you are not leveling it before you walk away or you are shutting off all the power to the auxiliary air compressor OR your auxiliary air compressor is not working.

The way to test the air compressor is to first level the MH then pump the air brakes until the air tanks get down to around 80 psi then go to manual on the HWH control panel and push and hold an UP arrow. When that system is calling for an UP in one of those bags the little compressor will start up and you can hear it running. Sometimes you have to be outside and have somebody push the UP arrow inside because it is not that loud. Mine is located just about two feet forward of my drive axle but a lot are located up front also.

If I do not have that aux compressor on then in about 2-3 days after my tanks get below 105 psi my MH will not stay level because it has NO air. If that compressor is on my MH will stay level forever.
