Monaco and Holiday Rambler?
Are they similar and in which ways? I see the HR has a Roadmaster chassis I thought that was a Monaco product?

Monaco bought Holiday Rambler in the late '90s. The HRs became integrated on the Roadmaster chassis during the early 2000s. They were build in the same facility by the same techs during that time. Generally speaking there were equivalent models of HR and Monaco.

Holiday Rambler and Monaco are now owned by Allied Recreation Group, same company that has Fleetwood and American Coach.

Most Monaco models had a near twin HR model.

The difference between a comparable Holiday Rambler model and Monaco model is much like the difference between a comparable Chevy and a Buick, or Ford and Mercury. There are equivalent models in both brands, and the major differences will be appearance and trim, although there might some small differences in options.
For example, the Holiday Rambler Endeavor is a twin to the Monaco Diplomat, although the Diplomat will have a higher-end appearance and may come with more standard features that are options on the Endeavor.

The manuals for the 2008 Endeavor and Diplomat are identical except for the names. I've read that at least by 2008 only small differences in furniture style and external badging existed. I also read that Monaco kept the HR name because they had a much larger owner base due to the towables. This allowed the loyal HR base to move up to motorized without changing brands. Not sure this is true but it makes sense.

My two HRs seemed to have the same genes...
I owned a 97 HR endeavor...it came with a small CAT on a Freightliner chassis. We really loved the quality. Yes, it was older, and only had one slide, but it sure was well built. Sadly, the small CAT (275 HP) just wouldn't cut it towing a toad in the mountains, and the DW wanted more room in the bedroom before we started full-timing. We upgraded to an 07 HR Endeavor last year. When my wife and I walked inside to look, we both knew immediately we were buying it....it was everything our old one was (which we loved) but was bigger and updated....400 HP, four slides, cherry wood, and 8 airbags. It just was exactly what we wanted and needed.
To us they really are from the same family tree.
