monaco and holiday rambler coaches are not the same

For what it is worth. We have a holiday rambler endeavor and it is not even remotely the same as a Monaco, which this forum seems to tell me. Things are not positioned the same, etc.

Are you comparing the Endeavor to a Monaco Diplomat with exactly the same floor plan as your coach, or to some other Monaco model? I don't know if it is still true today, but in the 2000's HR and Monaco's were indeed the same on a model by model and floorplan basis. In 2006, an Endeavor and a Diplomat were basically the same coach, if you compare the same floor plan.

Monaco acquired HR in 1996. Over the next several years the models under both the Monaco and HR brand names were aligned and the models in each line had a near twin in the other line. The HR Endeavor and the Monaco Diplomat were very similar. They were built on the same chassis with the same major components. They continued to have some floor plan layout, colors/paint patterns and trim differences. They were built in the same facility by the same techs.

To add to what Robin and Steve said, they are like the old Ford/Mercury cars, or the old Pontiac,Buick, Olds cars. Even through they looked slightly different they were very much alike. You could put a Pontiac fender on a Buick, but the molding would be different. My dad would weld up the holes were the original molding went and put the Buick molding on. If you take a close look at some of the Holiday Rambler motorhomes and compare them to the same model Monaco, you will notice the dashes are not the same.

Uhhhh, can you explain your comment a little more? As coincidence has it, we ended up making very good friends of some folks who initially camped next to us, when we started comparing our '06 PAQ Endeavor to their '06 PAQ Diplomat. Other than the afore-mentioned few pieces of trim/etc, they could be identical coaches.

When shopping for my coach, the final choosing was between a Monaco Camelot and a Holiday Rambler Scepter. The Scepter won. Both coaches were nearly identical. The Scepter was two years newer and had a stacked washer/dryer. Other than that and a slight color scheme they were the same.
