Monaco ceiling damage

Our ceiling is a padded vinyl with vinyl-covered strips about 2" wide that separates areas of the ceiling. One of them is right in front of the fridge. When I pulled the fridge out to replace the cooling unit it damaged the vinyl on that strip and it looks awful!

I think I could take the strip to an automotive upholstery shop and have it recovered, but I can't get it out! There's some kind of retaining strip down the middle of it, but I can't get it to snap out. I'm afraid of putting too much pressure on it. Has anyone with a coach from the early 2000's had one of these strips out, and if so, how did you do it? Thanks for your help!

Joe,
I bet a vinyl repair guy could fix that where you couldn't see it
without removing it .
Good luck what ever you decide .

Joe,

i removed several of those strips when I had my 2002 Dynasty. It's been a bunch of years ago, but as I recall, they were just pressed in with kind of a snap fit. I know that I did not have to break them to get them out.

By the way, during that project I got ceiling material, and the strips from NW RV in Eugene.

Thanks Ray! I may have to find someone like that, but would like to avoid that home service charge!

Actually, he would have to make two trips. One to look at what I have and another to come back and repair it.

If you have a RV dealer near you give them a call or go by and ask
who they use for vinyl repairs .
That guy will probably know and understand exactly what you are
talking about . He may even give you a price over the phone .
I had some repairs done in Dallas and I was amazed how well it turned out .
That was yrs ago and I still can not find the repairs .

I don't see why the guy would need to make 2 trips . I believe my man
mixed his colors of repair glue or what ever they call it right there in
one trip .
