Monaco Diplomat 2005 Water Bay Door Needed

Hello, I need a water bay/waste disposal door for my Monaco Diplomat 2005. Would surely appreciate it, if anyone know where I could located a used door. Have contacted Visone RV, Colaw RV and Arizona RV, none of the salvage companies had the door. Hoping that someone might be able to assist. Thanks Doug "Semper Fi".

Have you tried Holiday Rambler? They may be able to help. Not sure, but I think this is the era they were producing Monacos.

Doug-

I damaged a single door on our coach. I priced the salvage door, then discussed these options with the body shop:

1) Repair the door skin
2) Replace the door with salvage (I would buy and deliver to them; about $600)
3) Replace the door with new (REV Group; about $1,000, delivered)
4) Replace the door skin

Option 4) was their suggestion after some investigation, and the way we went. The body shop worked with a local fab shop to make a new door skin. The top edge is folded at 90 degrees, and the bottom rolled, so matching the shape was tricky. The body shop said the tape Monaco used to hold the old skin on was very tough. They painted the door to match the decals (not a problem in your case), clearcoated, and the total cost was around what I would have paid for the salvage door, which they would have had to prep, paint and clearcoat, anyway.

A body shop with a great reputation is your best bet, I think. See what they suggest.

Also: You should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.

Mark, Thanks and I will look into your recommendation. The skin seems to be an excellent option. Will update my profile and appreciate all input to being a solid family member. Doug

Water Bay Door Resolved

Thanks for all of the input and suggestions. As a member recommended to have the skin replaced, I done just that. Had a local Fabrication Shop bend the aluminum and frame was expertly repaired by a Noted Motorcycle Chassis builder. Awaiting paint. Once again, Thanks to our Family here. Doug, USMC, Retired.

My two favorite salvage yards are: Visione in Kentucky just off I 65 and Colaw in Carthridge, Mo. I have bought from both and find them good to deal with. Google each and call them.

A good friend on this sight told me once that you can go to a aluminum sign maker and they can cut and bend a new skin for you and then all you have to get done is get it painted!!!! Sounds a lot cheaper to me!!!!
