Monaco Diplomat Headlight replacement

I have 2004 Diplomat and I am attempting to replace the headlight assemblies. One of them was burned out and since they are cloudy and I got the new ones for about $50 each I figured better to just replace them, right? How hard could it be to unscrew the old ones and replace with the new ones? Ha!

I have the brackets taken off and the headlight will not come out of the fiberglass hole. It is not attached to anything else, just very very tight! I am afraid to force it too much and then I wonder how hard it will be to get the new one back in there.

I saw one other thread about this issue from 2013 where the guy used a crow bar to get it out and then some other ratchet contraption to get the new one in. Yikes! It shouldn't be this hard, should it?

Make sure you have the retainer screws & bracket removed.

I replaced both my headlights and one tail light. The tail light was very tight I twisted and pulled and finally got it out, did the same thing to get it back in.

Keep trying and keep us posted.

Yes, I have all brackets removed. Such a tight fit - makes me think they built the entire coach around the headlight!

Had the same issue in our 06 Diplomat. Just kept working it until it came out. I too had all of the brackets off.

Solved!

Turns out the 04 Diplomat is one of the few rigs where the headlights come out from the front instead of behind the fiberglass. After brackets are removed the headlight pushes out the front with no problem. Argh! I wrestled with it for quite a while thinking that it had to come out the back!

Anyway - Problem solved. Hopefully if any of you have this issue this will save you some time and frustration!
