Is there any way to find out how the "New Monaco" is doing regarding their new coach sales? I can't find any #s by googling. As a current Monaco owner I am just curious.

May want to try RVIA.org, RVDA.org or RVbusiness.com

According to Stat Surveys from Grand Rapids Michigan Monaco RV had registered about 1000 Motorhome's (A and Cs) in the USA thru November 2010- this would include Holiday Rambler. This is only about 1/3rd of Winnebago's numbers but double that of Newmar. Monaco has been gaining some momentum and in October ramped up production of gas coaches. They have just started shipping the new Vesta and HR Trip and have added floorplans to the Aluma-lite A and C plus the HR Vacationer A is back in a gas coach. They are also working on a number of Towables. The RV Market was up in 2010 40% but this was mostly towable. Motorhomes have been flat however gas coaches are now selling and some diesel models are moving. I know Monaco has had some success with their 43DFT Diplomat/Endeavor and have a new 43pkq. They will also be the only manufacture offering a diesel with an in-cylinder solution to meet the 2010 emmisions (they will probably run out of ISL Cummins soon and then switch to Maxxforce already switched the Knight/Ambassadors to the Maxx10). It seems in time that some buyers will prefer the no hassle of advance EGR versus DEF plus Monaco will have a huge price advantage by $10k-$15k since they don't have to retro the chassis with all the DEF hardware ect.

I have been wondering the same thing. We trade rv's every 3-4 yrs and are currently in an 08. Starting to get the bug again and have started looking. All of our RV's have been Holiday Ramblers except for one Peterson Excel 5th wheel. Really on the fence about the next one... Would be nice if Monaco came out with some kind of loyalty incentive for current owners especially the way things went down with the "old Monaco" Also curious how people like the Maxxforce engines? I have only seen a couple on dealers lots.

When we started RVing the intent was to trade for new every 4-5 model yrs. We bought a 2000 Safari Znazibar in 2000 as an entry level coach then went to a 04 HR Imperial in 04. The plan was to keep ahead of the really big expenses and use the "heart" of the coaches life, the first 50 - 70k miles then buy new. That plan has been trashed by the economy unfortunately and now we can no longer do that because of unavailability of the kind of financing we need to keep going the way we did. We lost the gamble and are now forced to stay in the Imperial. Fortunately it's not a bad coach to be forced to stay in!! Aside from all the Monoco related problems we're basically happy, we can use the coach and have managed to get by without a huge expense item so far. Granted, windshields have cost us about $1500 in deductibles (3) and there is no fix in sight that won't cost a small fortune so we're toughing it out there too. A warm fuzzy from the "new Monoco" would be very nice indeed.
Ron
