Hey guys,
Its been fun here. Our Hurricane, (Hydronic), System checked out, no heat and Beuadry's can't find the part. The washer has gone out too! I do have full hookups! Thank Goodness we are in an RV Repair place. Sorry we have not connected, it has gone too fast.

over all a good rally. we had dinner with Karen and Carol it was nice to get to visit. I think Carol is trying to get the economy back on track all by her self. There has been a repair truck in front of the coach since she got here. They sold 17 Coaches at the rally, not a bad number. Navistare said all the right things now we will have to wait to see it they will follow through on the what was promised. We had a great time wish we could have seen more IRV2 people but I am sure we will see many of you in Quartzsite

Back in April I was at Beaudry's and was in the market for a new coach. They tried to up sell me to this very same Majestic, wife and I spent quite a bit of time looking at it. It sure is a nice coach but the layout is not right for our full timer taste. Back then, they wouldn't come down on price either. Any idea if this dual slide model will be put in production by MonacoRV LLC? I'd be hesitant to try a brand new major design change if there was no backup support....

We had agreed on a '08 Dynasty but the deal fell apart when they played good salesman/bad salesman with us. (Salesman suggested MSRP less 35% could work, we made the offer, they countered with a 7% discount off of MSRP - on a one year old Dynasty. I think they were still in the middle of their bankruptcy and must not have had any room to move.) Eventually we bought a Monaco 42FKQ from Guaranty in Eugene. Wonder if they participated with this rally at all?

Luke,
In general NAVISTAR was very non committal. They said that they were not dropping any lines but will only build what sells. I am not sure how to read that but my bet is entry level Class A (Diplomat and below) before they are ordered and higher end as they are ordered. They were very clear that the MaxForce engine will replace all other engines. This will happen over the next two years as they run out of Cummings and Cat engines.

Service centers are not in the plans at this time. They are going with full service dealers who will be required to service all brand and all customers, even those that did not buy from that dealer. They claim the requirement is in the contract with the dealer. If the dealer does not live up to the service requirement they will find or set up authorized service center to compete with a sales dealer.

They will continue to support all the RV clubs by contributing based on the brand of unit sold. So I think at least the Monaco and Holiday Rambler clubs will remain.

They are pushing for tighter quality control during assembly. NAVISTAR is requiring implementation of written processes and procedures at each station and the coach will not move on until everything is correct. They also say they are going to do root cause analysis for problems found on coaches after delivery. General idea is to work toward a ISO 9000 assembly process.

No major changes are planned for the frames. They will continue to build and use Roadmaster chassis. The old Monaco guy did say that they are now able to use NAVISTARs large engineering establishment to research improvements.

I am not sure about this one but I think they are going to build all self powered units in Coburg and towables in Indiana. They may have said gas powered coaches were being build somewhere besides Coburg but I am not sure.

They said they will continue to build the tech support and parts staff as sales warrant. They will provide a warranty of 1 year full coach and 2 year chassis this will apply to all coaches sold to dealers after June of this year. You can tell a NAVISTAR supported coach by the sticker on the coach that says Monaco RV LLC.

That is about all I can remember at this time. General theme was go slow, increase quality and make sure they only do what the market will support.

Carol took the economic stimulus package to new heights! We did not get to leave Beaudry until 5:45 pm!! I think they finally fixed everything on her coach it was one thing after another. Last time she buys a coach that has been in San Diego and Mexico alot She has alot of corrosion and also found out that she will have to replace her a/c units soon due to corrosion.

Well she did "steal" her Dip so she figures she can do some repairs.

We had a great time and enjoyed spending time with Dave and Geri! Great people.

Thanks for finally posting something about what NAVISTAR actually talked about during the rally. As one of the many who couldn't attend. I kept waiting for someone post what actually went on instead of talking about showers or that they had a good time.

Thanks for the update, it was much appreciated.
