Majeasy, After seeing your pictures of your shield and trying figure how to make one I took A look under our coach, this is what I saw.

PS. I'm sure there is a part number that could be bought for coaches without.

Checked with our home dealer, their policy is to order a rad pan installation for every Diplomat. As you have learned, they are not automatically installed at the factory, but should be. If a Dip arrives without one, our dealer will order and install. They took care of mine at no charge. I asked what the part cost, the reply $200.00.
Maybe you could have your home dealer revisit the matter.

Had to jump back in - my thanks to everyone that has posted to this topic. Glad to hear that the issue appears to be addressed in later model years than my 07.

I had the repair shop install the aluminum screening -felt good - took all the gravel sections really slow coming back down from Alaska- BUT, you guessed it....another radiator hole.

Seems as though the screening came loose from one side and a rock made it to the soft aluminum radiator. Another tow, but the shop was able to fix the radiator this time. Now finally back in the USA (hooray) and this whole gravel thing will probably never come up again.

Thanks again to everyone.

Jumping in kinda of late on this thread. I read it months ago and it struck a cord as we plan a trip to Alaska in 09. We are currently at what think was Camp Monaco(now Turning Wheel RV Service Center)in Elkhart, IN. having a delam issue taken care of. We asked them about the rock guard and were told that Monaco makes one only for a rear radiator. As we have a side radiator, do we need the shield.

As a side note, the service center here is open and staffed by the ex-Monaco service employees. We have been very impressed with them so far.
