Do you think Monaco can survive? It's stock (MNC) is $3.20 this morning.

3 year weekly chart of Monaco Coach Mfg
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=MNC...d=p08880810807
wifey and i love our coach, thanks Monaco and thanks MHSRV.com
one may need a strong stomach to hold on to the stock. but i hope the company makes it, we think the roadmaster chassis is best you can buy...
"buy support and sell resistance" limit buys could be placed at $2.91 and $3.00.....
no guarantees the stock could still fall like a rock.

Looks like it closed at $3.04/share. I sure hope that Monaco isn't the next to go.

Yes, Monaco can survive, 52 week high was at $15.94. Kay/CEO has to react quickly instead of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Can you say Alfa-Leisure. If Monaco offers it's base of owners real time upgrades/incentives they'll be the ones who clear out 07/08/09 factory inventory and help keep this ship sailing. Hold the resorts, trim off slow production lines, possibly marry up w/Camping World for a nation-wide repair program. Trim off/shut down non-top units. Introduce/refit Diesel Engines w/cylinder displacements fuel saving type units, push solar panels, and redesigned/replacement front caps, spoilers, anything to cut down coach drag. Review selling units in over-seas markets were fuel is still dirt cheap and sell. Don't forget RV 5 wheel units are needed in flood areas, ASAP. Doc

docusaf:

Having CW do repair work for any mfr. is a non starter. CW is set up to do intstallations. They are so busy I dont see how they could take on this type of work. When it comes to repairs their workmanship is usually horrible. I doubt you would want them to adjust your slides or repair cabinetry. Not jobs they can handle well. Monaco already had coupons worth up to $10,000 for previous owners. I am wondering which of the countries with cheap oil would buy MH's?? Venezuala, Saudi or?? Which countries did you have in mind?

I partially agree with DocUSAF. One thing I would like to see is retrofit caps to improve drag and therefore fuel economy. I think that Monaco makes the best RVs. Sales depend on quality materials and construction. I hope they hang in there because the oil panic will collapse.

Monaco is banking on a need for additional high end RV Parks in Nevada, Michigan, Florida and Texas.
They have separated from Outdoor Resorts after a long continuing law suite.
Monaco has officialy begun an offshoot of manufacturing. This is called SIGNATURE RESORTS.
With the high cost of fuel they expect people will stay closer to home and stay longer at available parks.
This decision directs a great deal of available funds to land aquisition and development.
The idea has its merits but also gives the apearance of an all or nothing direction.
Having property on the books does help during a forced reorginazation.
Depending strictly on manufacturing in times like this with out new and modern management inovations seams like a dead end road.
Bob Lee led this development years ago with his CA Resort.
COUNTRY COACH, MARATHON and MONACO are all located within fifteen miles of each other. They all share the same work force from the same communities.
When one of the manufactures makes a positive decision they all benifit.
Taking their investment in SIGNATURE RESORTS public has taken a toll on the stock.
This along with the opening of their Michigan Resort and a bad showing for all of them. Because of lack of available lots and solid information on the product all takes its toll.
Monaco has as good a chance to survive as any well managed company.
With higher costs the consumer of all economic levels demands value for every penny. That means quality, available product service and customer relations equal to the extremely large investment
that has been taken for granted.

OK Gang,
From what I saw Kuwait, and most of Saudi have the ablilty to buy anything they want. Lot's of cheap fuel and they love living on the desert. Monaco could sell to American over-seas military markets just like any other American auto venders. Maybe not the larger DP versions but 5th wheels and C-Class Rv's could find a home. Yes, I've driven on those roads as well for 'bout 6 years. Maybe CW is a non- starter, just something for MC to review. Battery/electric powered, cylinder valve displacements, and DP coach drag should be looked at. Lots of places for RV's to ReCharge, especially at any 30/50 amp camp sites. Big Oil is finally like the old rotary phone waiting for the new cell phone to come along and kick it to the curb. We're all oil (crack heads) ha, ha, and big oil knows it..that's why the price will hold and clime from speculators. I just hope the entire MHRV indrustry remembers' who tossed them under the bus. The only way to change the outcome w/oil is change the playing field. Watch Cummins, CAT & Detriot over-seas stocks, they're not hurting. MC's 52week stock high was 15.94 per stock, as of yesterday it closed at 3.04 per. Come-on Monaco, you gotta survive, but you can't move forward looking in your rear view. Doc

MNC is at 2.38 this morning. It is holding it own
with a downward trend that reflects the entire industry.

Camping World Service is not the solution. Our local Monaco dealer, Foley RV, has gone to all CW service. The results are awful for anything more complex than routine service. CW is high volume, low overhead. That's fine if all you need is high profit service such as lube/oil change. Need professional body work, electrical troubleshooting, chassis repairs, etc, you'd better go somewhere with a professional service department.

I just heard that Monaco is closing production and service in Indiana and will move all DP production to the west coast.
