I've had my 2005 Monaco Monarch for about a year now. After camping in my Monarch for a few days under shore power, I often have very low(or no) starting power for the engine. I can usually start by using the battery boost. The above problem also happens sometimes even after I've run for awhile. Should I be shutting off my chassis batt. switch while camping using AC? (I always turn off the coach battery switch when I hibernate the coach.) I'll bet there is probably some dumb thing I'm doing (or not doing) and not an equipment issue.

If you have a flooded cell battery and a cheap converter it will boil the battery instead of charging it. Check the water level and if it's low that might be your problem.

Ron,
Most of our rigs do not have a charge-path to keep the starting (chassis) battery charged while we're camped on shore power. Yes, the Inverter maintains the house batteries, but there is no charge path from there to the chassis battery. Most of us have solved this problem with a trik-L-Start or similar product. Search on this blog for similar advice.

Sounds like either coroded terminals or bad battery. If I stay more than a day or 2 I turn off the start batteries.

Depending upon what year and model Monaco coach you have, it may or may not have been set up to charge the engine battery when it left the factory. Many owners have added that function after the fact.

I had the same problem with My cranking batteries on My 2004 Endeavor.
I bought one of the trik-in-start and all My problems were over.

I am new at this, but I am learning about the Monaco section and thanks
from all You old members.
I look forward to using this source of information for a lot of help.
