So I was out cleaning the rig to take a few pictures. Closed the door and went to lock the doors via the touchpad. Nothing happens! Bummer Try the keyfob and again nothing. Pull out the keyless control unit located next to the passenger seat and find I have no power to the unit. Pull out my Monaco supplied wiring diagram to see whats going on. Wiring diagram... . . not even close to what I have in my hands!

If you have ever look inside the cup holder/armreat, you will see a ton of wire. I pull out everything connected to the keyless control. 3 relays, a grey connector, the control box and a lot of wire. Huh... maybe I just blew a fuse? Go outside to the power/fuse bay below the driver seat area. Open the panel and find a fuse labeled "F-11 Keyless". That must be it!! Pull the fuse and it's good. Look at the fuse board and follow the run up to the connector and there isn't even a wire in that spot.

By now it's dark and I have to get up early.

Next day.

Call Monaco tech for assistance. Got a tech on the second try/5 minute wait. Explain problem. He get back a few minutes later.. Check fuse F-11! Been there done that. "Okay locate the keyless control box under the dash and make sure it's connected okay" Sorry.. it not located there, it's by the pass seat. "Hmmm, I have to check with the engineers and call you back in about an hour or so". Yeah, that never happened!

Get home from work and give them another call. They're gone for the day.

So I get in the rig and start over again. Double check all the wires to make sure I'm not missing something. Everything looks good. Go back out to the power/fuse bay and figure I'll check everyfuse in the RV if I have to. Really don't want to manually trace out the wire run. Checking each fuse for power with my meter and checking the listing on the cover. Get to fuse "F-69 - LP/CO Detector". Cover sez it should by a 3 amp fuse, there's a 20 amp in that slot. Pull out the fuse and it's blown!! Just for S&G I go check the LP and CO detectors. They are still on. Replaced the fuse and the keyless works again.

I wonder where the detectors are getting power from??

Moral of the story is don't believe what's written on the fuse box cover or the wiring diagrams. Also don't count on a tech to be able to help all the time.

Hopefully that circuit is not wired for a 3 amp load and the wiring can handle a 20 amp fuse. And if it blows a 20 amp fuse it`s getting pretty hot. I would check with more time in the near future what other accessories are covered by that fuse and isolate the problem. Just to be on the safe side. Are you sure is 3 amps and not fuse number 3 in the fuse block?

It's a good size wire to handle the load. And according to the label it said 3 amp fuse for the LP/CO Detector. Beleive me, I've been over this box a dozen times.

Your keyless entry system could need something like GM cars sometimes do...reinitialization where you hold the lock/unlock key at the same time for about 20 seconds..this juices the system back up. But since I don't know where they get the thing from, please check your owner's manual first on this procedure..

Just went through something similar with a 2006 Camelot. Keypad started acting up - it would lock doors but not unlock them (nor the fob).

Called the electronic lock company and a tech told me about the two fuses at the upper left side of the electronic module located inside the passenger armrest housing. One fuse blown. But blew again and Monaco at Diamond Hill found it was a bad solenoid (grounded out) on one of the bay doors.

We now keep an extra key outside the rig or one window unlatched in case it happens again.

Good luck and happy travels,
