In AZ you have the right to rescind the purchase if the vehicle you bought did not have the equipment or ability represented by the dealer. I don't know the time frame in which you can rescind though. If you fall into the legal time frame for rescission, you probably have a good case. I have personally been there, done that, so if you want to send me a private message, I can guide you.

Ditto on the ISX

Ditto, I have a 2005 Monaco Executive 45' 525 ISX, 60,000 miles, being overhauled as of this writing. Head gasket issues from "dropped sleeves". I can't tell you how disappointing this is and expensive.

Recently I was close to purchasing a 2005 Exec 45 PAQ with a DD60 engine so I did a lot of research on the model and engines that were available for that coach.

The standard engine for that coach was the ISM-500. The ISX-525 or the DD60 engines were options.

When I looked at the NADA for the year, model and engine option, there was only 3 thousand dollars difference between the ISM-500 HP, DD60-515 Hp and the ISX-525 HP.

I just realized that the OP posted back in 2013 so prices are much different now, obviously.

Even though I don't own one I have heard from some Monaco owners that the DD60 engine is a far better and stronger engine than either the Cummins ISM or ISX.

I would say, under the circumstances, for anyone that is contemplating purchasing a used coach to either inspect it yourself or have it professionally done or both, otherwise it is "Buyer Beware".

BTW, the 2005 Exec that I had looked at had so many problems caused by the original owner that it would have been a BIG money pit to get it back into reasonable condition EVEN at the discounted price he was asking for the coach. I passed without any hesitation.

It would be real interesting to contact Monaco for the original build sheet to see if it had the ISX from the factory. It could well be that due to cost the original owner had to have the ISX replaced due to failure, and just went with the less expensive ISM engine.

Richard we had a member of the MCOA that purchase a Sig in 03 at a rally in FL and he said that the difference in price at that time was over $10,000 from the ISM to the ISX, he went with the DD60 but don't rember the extra but the engine weight of the DD to ISX was in excess of 1000 lb lighter according to his post.
If it were me I would opt for the ISM or the DD.

Not sure that a DD S-60 weighs a 1000 lbs more but even that I don't think that makes much difference on a 43,000 motor home. My DD has given me zero problems and drives great but so does the ISM and a majority of the ISX motors.

Sooo another ISX problem. Just add it to the rest in the Cummins forum here.

I guess I wasn't clear what was ment is the ISX was 1000 lb + more than both the DD and ISM according to his post.

Either way, a 1000 lbs on a 43,000 lbs motor home doesn't really make any difference. That is a around a 2.5%
