This is typical behavior for every insurance carrier, and why every one of those ads on TV says "we can save you $400/year on insurance" because the average length of time a customer stays with one company is about 3 years, and then they have had enough of the increases.

Some people are more active, others are less aware of the increases or just absorb them b/c it doesn't bother their bottom line finances much. The insurers LOVE that last type, b/c that type of person might soak up 5+ years of increases and the insurer makes boatloads off them! Of course as soon as you make a claim that actually costs the insurer money, you are going to be dropped anyway... So why have any loyalty to them? They will use ANY excuse to reduce any possible payout and fight to the heat death of the universe... So have the same amount of loyalty to them that they will show you: None.

Go with whoever is cheapest. The rest of the options are all set by regulation and are basically the same across the field.

Check Texas Farm Bureau. They have been fair to me even with a couple of claims. I have never had an increase in 3 years. Never argued a claim either.

You might look at FMCA ins, they are using Nationwide as one of there companies, and They are way cheaper than Progressive, and progressive did the same thing to me.

My NatGen policy just came up for renewal at the same price as 6 months ago. This is the third year I've had my MH and toad insured with them and the semi-annual cost has actually gone down a few dollars.

You stated that you are full time. Not all insurance companies will write a full time policy and it also depends on what State you are titled in. I have a So Dakota address and was with Nationwide for several years thru Miller Insurance brokers. Two years ago my premium doubled with no claims. Miller told me that Nationwide wanted to get out of the RV business. I called State Farm, Hartford (AARP), Liberty Mutual and others, all who said they dont write fulltime, at least in SD. I finally got a quote from Geico. They did save me a lot of $$$ with a full time policy. This year at renewal the premium even went down a few dollars. Not sure if Geico will do a full time policy in TX but you may want to call them.

We're not full time and no tickets, claims or accidents. Nat. General went from 850/year to nearly 1400/year.

We just signed up with Nationwide at less than 800. Same exact terms.

If you have roadside assistance, National General will treat that as a claim if used, I was told. We have Coach Net, so we don't have R.A. with the insurance co.

I think it really has a lot to do with which state your in as well.

I just got my renewal quote from Nat Gen via Miller Ins Agency. It went up $100 from expiring. No claims no tickets.

Rates are based on your area. Think about the claims they have had as a result of the storms of the last three years.

We've used Miller Ins for the past 7 years. I had asked them to shop around since we had such as huge increase for no apparent reason, but they couldn't come up with anything better.

I had my local insurance guy quote it and he found Nationwide within a day or so. I just paid the premium $749. I hate to say it, but it's like Miller didn't want to make an effort.
