I've never had a total loss on a motorhome, but I do have National Interstate. As a previous claim adjuster, all I can tell you is that is should depend on what caused the total loss.

If you had an "at fault" accident causing the total loss, then your rates will likely go up. If it was a fire, or someone else was at fault in an accident, then you should have no rate increase.

However, all insurance companies are different. The best thing is to ask the adjuster. We always told our insured's if there was going to be a rate increase.

I hope they are handling your claim quickly, and you're getting excellent claims service. Please let us know how the process goes.

no fault

It would depend on what caused You to hit the truck---Most would say that's not a no fault and Your insurance will go up!!!! Following to close is usually the reason and a defendant at fault--slamming on Your brakes and not having enough space to stop would be the same--only thing I can think of that wouldn't be if another large truck pushed You into the other truck!!!! I would double check with Your agent!!!! Sorry to hear but if You have a older model and have full cost replacement, then You will be ahead of the game. If that's possible!!!!!

Bill,
So sad to hear of the trouble. It's always a downer when folks have this happen. There is however a bright side. Your experience can be invaluable for all of us in future decisions in policy purchase and the process of adjusting a loss etc. Please keep us all informed here.
Good luck and may the issue be resolved quickly and to your satisfaction.
Ron

One more thing I will add is that if you plan to travel in Canada or Mexico you need to raise your medical coverage. We had the standard $5000. And my wife had to go to the hospital and have surgery. That amount did't even come close to paying the bill.

Another thing about traveling in Canada we just found out is Medicare won't pay for medical care there when traveling. When you travel from the US to Alaska it will pay ,but when you are just traveling in Canada it Won't pay. Make sure you have extra insurance or you could be in a situation that we are in.

national interstate

When our first coach burned up NI paid the bill and no increase in premium. Lost and awning and the disappearing deductible went back to $500 but that was all so far.
