Good afternoon group,

I am new to the group, but thought I would jump right in and ask for help. I have had several motorhomes in the past including a 1987 35FC Wanderlodge. I am ready to get back into motorhome ownership again. Judy (wife) and I have pretty much zeroed in on Monaco as the route we want to follow. We need to be frugal and only want to spend $30 -$50K. Seems as we are limited to 1995 - 2001 coaches. We are limiting our search to the Windsor, Signature and Diplomat series. We found a couple of coaches that fit our budget. I am aware of the tire issue and doing a complete investigation of service records.

A question or 2 I have: we found a 1995 Signature for $39,000 (asking) with a 400 M11 Cummins. Does the M11 signify a rebuild ?? The coach looks great from the photos. We still need to check it out. Also found several Diplomats and Windsors (1998 - 2002 vintage) in the $40 -$46K range. Does that sound reasonable providing they are well maintained and in decent condition???.

Thanks to All, Don / Motorhomeless

Don,

The M11 is the Cummins ISM before electronic controls. It's a very solid engine with no design issues.

We bought a 94 Signature near the bottom of your price range, and couldn't be happier!

Not sure where you are located but here is a link of a 99 dip that looks pretty nice. I would bet you could get it for a good price. I have been watching it for a few weeks on ebay. I also saw it on Fresno craigslist.

Here are a couple to consider:

1990 Monaco Signature 40 Ft Class A diesel pusher Motor Home RV Motorhome $36,000
http://louisville.craigslist.org/rvs/2831033317.html

1995 Monaco 40 Ft Class A diesel pusher Motor Home RV Motorhome $38,000
http://louisville.craigslist.org/rvs/2831033317.html

The first one will likely have to adjust his price a lot more than the second one.

We've owned 2 Monacos(98 & 99) with 450hp M11s in them and they where great engines and coaches.

Here is a easy to use Search technique that may be of help in finding the Monaco you are looking for. I could not be happier with Monaco we purchased last year.

I have found the Cummins and Allison support people to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. There are lots of experienced owners across multiple forums that are eager to help new owners through the early learning curve.

I used some lesser known classified sites including the following. Try using the following web search link. (Just substitute the model Monaco for the models you are interested in)
