Well hey - we are happy Monaco owners!!!!
We purchased this unit from the Council Bluffs Camping World store a week ago last Friday. Salesman told us 2 hours to get ready - then we could drive home - only took 8 days - we were disapointed - but no big deal now.
To our disapointment - Camping World did not detail the unit for us - so we spent the weekend cleaning up the wood shavings and aluminum chips - and exploring the systems. We are very happy with the unit - the Monaco quality generally shines through. Here are a few observations:
Thanks to this forum for the sani-con "fill and dump tanks" before using advice - done.
Why do we have a 600 watt inverter to only run 2 tv's and the microwave? We don't "tv" - so we wish we had kitchen outlets to make coffee and outlets by table to run our computer.
Wish the radio had a remote control, the Sirius actually ready option, and a way to plug in headphones while turning off all speakers.
Curbside couch is right up against a heat vent - strange - but we want to remove the couch and put in a computer desk and chair anyway.
Lots of room for the 2 of us for our normal 2-3 week outings.
Would like to know where the valve is to disconnect the ice maker water line. (It is not in the outside panel behind the fridge)
I ask about the max coach mph based on tire limits - both the salesman and the tech that delivered the unit told me there was no limit - guess I have "special" tires!!! Book says 75mph.
I'm going to have to retire to have time to do all the preventative maintenance - cleaning, lubing, checking, rotating, yada, yada, yada...
Will be moving our Datastorm F3 satellite internet dish from our old rv to the LaPalma - dumping the slow Hughes service for idirect.
We will be heading from Iowa to New Mexico later this month - can't wait to get behind the wheel - er-well - Carol does most of the driving - still can't wait to get on the road!!!

Congratulations on your new La Palma. Before I took our Diplomat on it's first long trip I made several short trips (under 100 miles) just for a shake down and to make sure I knew how everything works. You may want to think about that. Good Luck and Happy Travles

Ron and Carol,
Congrats on the new coach. Sure you are going to love it.
Not sure about yours but the valve to turn off the water to our ice maker is underneath the frig. There is a panel below the frig on our coach that can be removed for access to one of the furnaces. My valve is located in that area.
If you don't find it there trace the 1/4 white ice maker water line or look under all the cabinets where water lines are and you should find it.

Actually, you may want to check and make sure the Microwave is on the inverter circuit. 600 Watts sounds awfully low for a M-wave.

If you got the SFD, check under the washer/dryer cabinet..Thats where they hid ours in our Diplomat with Full Slide

Hi Ron and Carol,
Congrats on the new La Palma! You'll enjoy it.
Hey, I'll give SacsTC a thumbs up on his answer to your question. Here's a tag on answer on his. We have a full slide unit also. Our fridge is in the slide like his and M.M.'s. Ours has a full cabinet and drawers right along the left side of it. I pulled out the bottom drawer and found the valve there. Frankly, I thought it was a wierd place for it and I liked SacsTC and MonocoMama's set-up better. (long story) Anyway.....good luck finding it. You might even find some more sawdust to clean up while searching.
Happy trails,
AKBrick
