Thanks for all the info... I will check for dirty coils from the inside as the AC's have never been serviced as long as I have had the coach (8 years) but did not have to use them much when we were in Chula Vista, CA. for previous winters. Maybe they just need to be serviced.

Thanks and travel safe
Dave

Don't think you can from the inside. Need to get on the roof and pull the covers.

The evaporator can be inspected from inside but don't think cleaning it would be likley from inside. Well, unless it is a matter of removing a chunk of insulation from the inlet LOL. Takes PVC cover and metal shroud removal to gain proper cleaning access to it.

Condenser only accessible from outside and with PVC cover removed. Only have to remove main cover to get to that one.

Or, thats how it is on my Penguin's anyway.

I think your Sig has an EMS (energy management system) as my previous 05 Dynasty had. It won’t let you overload the electrical system. It will reduce something in the system if you have all three 15k units running. I personally would stay with the closest unit to the originals if replacing. Fewer surprises in my opinion.

It is a ducted system with heat pumps. I think they are 13,000 btu units and wondering if I should go with 15,000 btu units (3 on this coach)… Any recommendations for where to purchase and have them installed.. How many more amps do the 15,000 btu units draw than the smaller units?? We winter in Indio, CA till it gets too HOT and always have 50 amps...

Thanks for any help
Dave
On current unit, have you cleaned you filter/s & sprayed condenser/evap with cleaner, checked/replenished coolant/refrigant? Can go a long wait in preserving you AC. Hope this helps.

Yes, for some reason they do not call it 15000 btu's anymore. May be a legal thing. But if you look at specs, 13500 btu is 3952 watts cooling and "high capacity" is 4392 watts cooling.
When I bought my Penguin Two's, receipt said 15000 btu's.
That was the high capacity model and it does seem to draw about an amp more that a 13500 model.

RV AC's are sealed units. No valves to check and install refrigerant. All you can do is clean the coils (which need done from time to time).

Try cleaning the condenser coils on the roof.

$9 for a bottle of "Coil Cleaner" and in about 15 minutes you'll find out it makes a difference.

Are you spraying the evaporator coils or the condenser coils? Or both? Thanks.

I use this with a bug sprayer. When possible I flush with lots of water. I also use it on radiators & CAC with lots of water after it sits for a lil' bit.

Thanks. I have plans to get up there and do the condenser coils but was cautious about spraying the evaporator with any coil cleaner. Do you spray it on the evaporator and let is sit and rinse it or just let the a/c run and let the condensation run off and rinse it?
