New floor in older Monaco Knight

I've been a member for some time but sort of forgot about all the experience and info out there. Been the owner of a 2004 Monaco Knight 38PST for about 2 years. Thinking about upgrading flooring by getting rid of carpet and installing some form of vinyl. In looking at how slide on street/driver side works it seems as though it slides on an a long aluminum shoe rather than rollers like the curbside slide. Does anyone have any experience or input on how a vinyl might work under that slide? Will the slide destroy the new floor? Is there anything special we could do to protect a new floor. If I keep the new height the same as the old carpet will there be any realignment of the slide required.

Also considering the possibility of installing a pull down room darkening shade over the front windshield. Is this something that is doable? If so what shade might be the easiest and most effective.

Thanks in advance for any constructive inputs.

Just realized on my previous question on floor replacement for Monaco Knight 39PST I forgot to include year. It's a 2004.

These things work great:

MCD shades are very popular but $$$.
