Good evening,
Tuesday we take possession of our 2004 Monaco Diplomat 38 PST. We have been travel trailer people for the past 7 years but decided as we get older that we want RVing to be easier .
We have wanted a Monaco for a long time and are anxiously awaiting Tuesday!
Our Monaco will be used primarily for dog shows as we travel all over CA, AZ, NM, Nevada and Colorado to show our Mastiff. He is pretty excited about a new "little house" as we call our TT.
We are looking forward to learning all we can about Monacos and meeting other people who own them.
I did have one question--we are strongly considering purchasing the Extended Service Warranty. We purchased our coach from a private party. I have looked at a few of them--RV protection, Warranty Express and Good Sam to name 3--would appreciate feedback on any of the plans......
Thank you and we look forward to getting to know you by posts.

Hi mom2mastiffs -

Welcome to irv2 We're really glad to have you here as a new member and are looking forward to reading your posts about your RVing experiences and adventures. You'll find a great bunch of folks on this site who are very knowledgeable of RVing, the rigs we use, and the places we go in them. Enjoy the forums and post often, and when you want to be a official member of the forum just let me know.

Thanks!
Ron

Congratulations on your purchase!! Regarding EW programs....I bought an 01 Dynasty in late January...we were on our first extended trip to 2 RV rallies in Oregon when we broke down...major engine failure. My diesel MH had 62,000 miles....when I first bought it, I also bought Good Sam EW, but had a leaky hydraulic pump a few months later...the loopholes in the policy didn't cover any of it (they exlclude any failure with seals or gaskets on coaches over 5 years or 50,000 miles)...I got angry and cancelled it. A few weeks later we left for this trip, and had the engine problem. Now, it would appear that much of this engine fix would have been covered...not all, and then there is a deductable. Like any insurance, it is a bet you will have a problem....The GS policy for my MH was $2400 a year and IF we don't experience any other problems I will have spent about $5,000 this year on repairs...so in hindsight (I always have 20/20 hindsight!!),it would have covered maybe half of that amount....so I showed them!

Ron,

Thank you for your welcoming post. Actually we get the rig on Tuesday and we are leaving on Thursday morning for Greeley, Colorado for a big dog show there.
It'll be an adventure. Jeffrey drove trucks MANY years ago and did a whiz job on the 30 ft tt so we are hoping all goes well
Thank you again for the warm welcome. What is an official member of the forum?
