The FrenchQuarter RV Park is nice, not to far from the French Market and Bourbon St. Kind of pricey, but nice. Nothing else I would recommend other than the KOA in Metarie about 10 miles west of N.O close to the airport. The airport noise is minimal, never bothered me. Some of the other Rv parks are in some very questionable areas. We hit N.O about twice a month and I always stay at the KOA. Let me know if I can offer other ideas.

We vote for the Fairview-Riverside State Park. Stay in the "back" area on the river. $20. +/- rate was great for the area. Historical home on site with tours. 2 miles from the north causeway entrance across Lk. Pontchatrain.

A few years ago we stayed at:
New Orleans KOA West
1129 Jefferson Highway
New Orleans, LA 70123
(504) 467-1792
Big wide spaces.
Although when traveling to it and coming in on Hwy 49, as you get closer to Jefferson you have a tendency to ask yourself, "What am I doing here?" However the campground was nice. We stayed for several days with no problems. Staff was friendly and helpful. I don't remember the price, but hey, it's NOLA.
p.s., all back-in sites.
About $40 a night if I remember correctly.

Wayne there is a FamCamp at the NO Naval Resupply Depot right on the river. Neat little base, and of course retired prices.

Earlier this year we stayed at the French Quarter RV Resort for about a week. It sure was nice being able to walk to most of the action... and back!
It is pricey though.
