DW and I attended the Pomona RV show yesterday and while looking in the battery compartment of a new Diplomat I saw 4 very tall Interstate batterys. I ask the salesman about these and he told me that its like having 8 batterys. I googled and searched this forum and cannot find out any information. If anyone can educate me it would be appriciated.

Are they the UL 16HC 6volt batteries? They have a much higher output rating.

Monaco is installing 4 of these large 6 volt batteries with a 2800 watt pure sine wave inverter when the residential refrigerator option is chosen on any of their coaches. These battery are refered to as floor sweeper batteriesby the battery manufactures as they are normally used for indoor floor sweeper power.

And two of them are now standard on coaches that don't have a residential fridge. Monaco includes central fill systems for them.
I saw them on all new coaches when I did a factory tour a few months ago.

I looked at the taller version of the 6V lifeline batteries but at 98 lbs ea I was worried about my battery slide out tray. The slide out tray is only rated at 200lbs and I need four of these. Was not interested in dropping my batteries on the road somewhere so I choose the standard height which weigh 66lbs ea.

On my 07 Dip I have 4 U2200's and 2 Chassis batterys on my tray. I would have room for 2 of the tall batterys but I am also concerned about the extra weight. I wonder if anyone has replaced the U2200's with the tall batterys.

Monaco does not put the 4 big 6 volt batteries on a slide tray. Most likely because of weight. Four of them would be close to 450lbs. The 2 -12 volt group 31 are still on a slide tray but in a separate compartment.
