Santa came early this year. Six new Michelin XZE's. The tire guys at TCI were pretty good at answering my questions and I guess their prices were about par for the course. I think she will probably get about 15MPG now and probably shave at least two seconds off her quarter mile time since I won't be losing time to wheel-spin at the tree.

Seriously, I hope the ride and handling improvements are noticable. Should be considering my basis of comparison is 8-year-old half worn out Bridgestones.

Congrats on the new 'tars'. Always nice for Santa to leave us something we need insteada more ties and the like. I've heard lotsa good things about the Michelins, bet you made a great choice.

Did you see the MotorHome magazine cover of several months ago that had a mock (at least I assume it was faked!) drag-race start between a couple DP's? I love the cover. My wife is really good at PhotoShop'ing pictures and she's been working to delete all the cover-text and leave just the 2 vehicles doing a burnout at the christmas-tree lites start. She sez she can also change one of 'em to look like our green 40PAQ. Oughtta be good for a laugh or two!

Didn't see that one. I'll be waiting for that photo-shopped pic to show up in your site avatar.

I'm impressed RonNBama, new Casings are something to celebrate. Bet your dad or Grandpa called them that. Did you take your Bride for a ride in the country to show how quiet they are? Why not? I've noticed your handle that says Nawth Ala/AKA Huntsville. Now that's Nawth. For us anything Nawth of I-10 is Nawth La. Enjoy your new Tars, gonna need some in a couple of yrs.
Merry Christmas
Dave

Yep, my daddy would would "squall the casin's" when the 1956 Mercury spun off the gravel and hit the pavement.

Haven't taken her out yet cause she has been packing for the Christmas trip. Considering the amount of stuff she has squirreled away in every nook-an-cranny, I hope the load rating on my new rim protectors (casings) isn't exceeded!

LA huh? We have been to Lower Alabama a few times. (Or did you mean Louisiana.) We stayed at an RV campground in Bayou LaBatre (sp?) a couple of times, pre-Katrina. Love that adjacent country area too (Santa Rosa Island) for camping. Don't even have to get a Passport to enter.
